Corson finds himself transported to a magic land where rain kills and the Voice lives |
|
Corson, a six year military dropout, finds himself in a strange world with an orange-golden sun, running trees, and rain that is never the same thing and tends to kill people. After hiking the Appalachian Trail and investigating an odd cave, he suddenly appears on horseback, in armor, and looking out over a landscape so similar, yet so different from his own. He soon realizes that this world is not his. After realizing that it is not a dream or hallucination of some sort, he is informed that the prophecy that all of the people of this world have been waiting for - that the magic of the land would bring in a knight that would bring balance and peace - was just an idea from a clueless wizard. Having lived his life only for himself, Corson refuses to accept that his entire life might be one big cosmic joke and sets out to make this hairbrained theory a reality. On the way, he finds that magic is innate, the Darkness really does war with the Voice, and he is the only one that can save this world and maybe his own.
