| Greeting and salutation, All! Stopping by today to inquire if any of you are partaking in NaNoWriMo this year. I will be attempting a steampunk novel this year - an inventor who learns to control the weather. I am really sketchy on the plot at this point, but I took it from a prompt I found and decided to run with it. I'll be doing NaNo Prep starting this weekend, as I have done every year since it has existed, and that usually helps a great deal. For those who are partaking, I wish you the best of luck. | I want to. I want to real bad. I think life situations are falling into place and NaNo might be the perfect chance to break myself out of ultra-short fiction. I've read a couple NaNo blogs trying to formulate a plan. I've never attempted a novel let alone a 50,000 word novel in a month. (It's not the word count...it's the scope of a single work....scary) So, as my plans develop, I'll post. |
| I think you should try it! It really is a lot of fun. Plus, you just might amaze yourself in the process! There are tons of forums on the NaNo Website where you can find help if you get stuck or fall behind or get off track. | I'm doing NaNo as well. I'm working on a steampunk type novel. It's my first so I'm going be looking for opinions during November. But I'm hoping Prep will help with my ideas! | T.beard is right - this is an awesome activity! I just went through and looked for our members who did not have a sponsor as of tonight and I sponsored two of them using our group name. I will donate the GPs myself, but I wanted to have other writers see our group name and possibly get involved with us. The Write-A-Thon is aweoms and gives everyone an incentive to hit their word count goals so their team can beat all the other teams. If you're doing NaNo this year, why not get involved?
