  FOOD IS LIFE CONTEST No matter what we do, where we go, or who we think we are--we are linked together by one common need: food. It sustains us, is integral to all our rituals, comforts us when we are low, and celebrates with us. Food shares our journey: It is the first taste of a new culture, and the strongest memory of home. It is both exotic and traditional. Food is as varied as our imaginings. Food is life.
This contest is dedicated to the wondrous world of food, and is intended to inspire fiction and creative non-fiction writings that feature food and/or the rituals we surround food with, as a central element to the story. While I am always happy to receive new recipes, the recipe will not be considered as a part of the submission for judging (this is a writing contest after all), so any recipes will have to come attached to a story. THE RULES:  Entries must be fiction or creative non-fiction up to a maximum of 2000 words. Please include your word count in the item description. Submissions do not need to be newly written for this contest, but they may not be previously awarded. Only one submission per author is allowed. Submissions may have any rating, but your post and log line must be 13+ (this is an open forum).PRIZES: First Place receives a 10k awardicon and 5k gps Second Place receives 5k gps Third Place receives 3k gps There must be five entries to award to third place, three to award to second.Contest opens September 1st and closes October 31st. |
