  Welcome to the Historical Fiction Short Story Contest!Round 4 is open! I love to read and write historical fiction, and I was just thinking to myself, why don't I sponsor a contest for just that? That way I would get to read the best of the best here at WDC! So here we are, and hopefully you'll stop by and submit an item to join us. THE RULES Theme: Historical Fiction. Just don't include anything from 1990 and on; that's too recent. Prompt: Location: Central or South America. Only short stories and novel excerpts will be accepted. No poetry, please. THE STORY MUST HAVE THE WORD COUNT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE. Word limit: 7,500. You MUST include the year or era at the top of the story. For example, "1909," or "Circa 2000 B.C." Submissions can be old or new, but only items that haven't won an Awardicon already will be accepted for this contest. Once you submit your item, do not edit it. I might read it before the deadline to get a head start. Please post your entry into your message in bitem format. For example, {bitem:#######} is how you would write it, just replace the #s with the numbers of your item.
