100 Words of Horror
A Horror Contest Using only 100 Words. |
![]() Not for the faint of heart, 100 Words of Horror is a Micro Fiction contest that will test your story telling abilities. Every word must be chosen carefully. Just the slightest misstep can send you plummeting down a steep incline. Repeat words can be fatal. For 100 Word Examples, check out my Micro Fiction: "100 Word Stories" ![]() Contest will begin every Sunday at Noon, Writing.com time. It will end the following Saturday at noon. No late entries will be accepted. No exception. I will try to post when the contest has closed, but if I am busy and miss the deadline, the contest is still closed. I will post a photo prompt. Your story must be based on that photo. It can be a general theme and does not have to be exact, but I must be able to get a feel that the story was inspired by it in some way. 100 Words or less. Repeat words may count against you. Words are wonderful things. Use them. If the center of your story is a tree, don't say tree four times. Find another way to describe it. Show, Don't Tell. Often when you have to describe something, you use more words. 5 extra words here, 3 there; it adds up. Micro Fiction will help you tighten your story telling. Since this is short fiction and space may be limited, you can post the story directly in the message forum, though bitem will be accepted as well. ![]() 1,000 Gift Points to the Weekly winner. 1 overall winner will be chosen every 6 weeks and will receive a Horror/Scary Merit Badge. I will choose 3 honorable mentions each week, (if there are enough entries) and offer suggestions on improvement. Honorable Mentions will get 500 Gift Points ![]() Donations are accepted at "Bank for 100 Words of Horror" ![]() ![]() Head Minion: Week Twenty-Nine Vacant Vagrant Honorable Minions Jellyfish - 1 wk til Benidorm!
