Sounds like you already know all the best advice, but that doesn't always help. I got really fed up with the level of detail in the preps and almost scrapped the whole lot. Then I went back to the beginning and the few scenes I'd outlined before prep began and ran from there.

Use the prep, don't let the prep use you.
