How do I remove the wide spaces between paragraphs? I don't remember how I got then there,

In your item? It could be how you formatted it. In section 6 of creating an item, there's boxes to check, and to take away the spaces you uncheck the one that goes "Double Space Paragraphs". You may have also used the linespacing thing.

When you set up an item below the text box it gives you the choice to click on "Preserve Spacing" and the other says "Double Space." One of those makes the space slim and the other makes it wide. Try them out. For some reason, I always thought they were counter to what they say. But that is where you'll change the space.
