| I'm writing a steampunk novel for NaNoWriMo and I'm stuck on a couple of aspects. My novel is set in Philadelphia in the 1890s and I'm having a difficult time finding maps and info on that time period that doesn't have to do with the civil war and slaves. I know that was important but I'm looking for landmarks and such since I've never been to Philadelphia. If anyone has any research ideas, I'd love to hear them. Or maybe a more reliable search engine because google brings a lot of irrelevant info back. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks! Serenity to you and yours! | I simply Googled map of Philadelphia in 1890. Here is one of the results... https://www.philageohistory.org/rdic-images/view-image.cfm/PWD1890-1 |
How about googling for some documentaries (the type with renactments) or television shows set in that period - visual smorgasbord! --- SteamPunk Newsletter Out Now!
