Chapter #4Storyline 2 by: Unknown "Hey Henry, you're early." Katherine was surprised to see Henry this early at school.
"Can say the same for you. What happened to you? It's only seven." Henry looked at his old beaten watch.
"Well, I got in this huge fight with my parents, I mean totally huge, and I still don't know why."
"No? Were you past your curfew perhaps?" Henry asked curious as he grabbed the key ring from out of his pocket and looked for the right one.
"No way, I was only half an hour late, that's like a new record." Katherine gloated by her statement. Henry could only think how much water that girl's head contained. He then finally found the right key and opened the door.
"So why are you here early?" Katherine asked again curious.
"Well, I was called by the principal this morning. Seems power has been cut, so he asked me to investigate it.
"Ooh, exciting. You're going to the basement right? Want me to join you?" Katherine asked with a smile on her face.
He shook his head gently. The girl wouldn't hurt a fly, but Henry knew he would have it difficult to keep it together. The girl was dressed quite revealing, a skirt that almost showed off her firm buttocks, a top that showed off an impressive cleavage. No way Henry would let himself be tempted by something like that.
"Sorry, but the principal will have my head if I let you come with me." Henry said as he waved goodbye as he made his way. Katherine looked at him, then smiled as she saw him off.
Henry went to the staff room first to grab his equipment. Inside he was startled by the smell. It smelled like fish guts in here. Henry looked at the refrigerator; someone's meal was rotten probably. What a waste. Henry opened his locker and grabbed some necessary equipment. Henry wasn't sure what to expect down there. He wanted to be prepared for anything.
Finally finished changing his clothes he made his way to the science department. While walking through the hallway all of a sudden Dr. Jacobs walked out of one of the classrooms.
"Dr. Jacobs, what a surprise to see you here?" Henry asked the man.
"Henry, w-what are you doing here?" Dr. Jacobs asked with a louder voice than usual.
"Going to the basement, need to check out why we have no electricity. And you?"
"Oh the usual, had to do some tests, prepare for classes." Dr. Jacobs seemed to look back at the classroom he just left. Was there something inside?
"I see, well take care of yourself." Henry walked over to the door while Dr. Jacobs made a quick return to his classroom. Henry opened the door and saw only darkness. Flicking the switch next to the door Henry noticed the switch didn't work. He switched his flashlight on as he made his way down the wooden stairs. He noticed one of the steps was rotten. A job for another day. At the bottom Henry looked around himself, the place was creepy. An unnatural silence. If he didn't know better, he would say the place was haunted. But that was stupid. The kids would say the place was dead, but not literally.
As Henry took a few steps forward he thought he could hear something coming from the back. A heavy breathing. Quickly he shined his light back at the entrance.
"What are you doing here?" Henry asked.
"Surprise, thought I would join you." Katherine said as she made her way down the stairs.
"I thought I told you to...look out!" Henry said as Katherine just stepped on the rotten stair. Not being able to hold her balance Katherine flew forwards down the stairs, just to be caught by Henry.
The two could only breath as they were both scared out of their wits.
"A-are you both alright?" Henry asked Katherine looking at her and her stomach.
Katherine looked down. "I think so, everything feels good. Wow, that was something." Katherine said still shocked.
"I know, I did not expect you to fall for me that easily." Henry joked trying to lighten the mood.
"Ha ha, that's true. So will you let me like join you now?" Katherine asked him.
"I better let you come with me, else who knows where you'll end up." Henry said as he signed Katherine to follow him forward. She followed him to the next room where at the other end of the room was the main power board.
"Now let me see." Henry mumbled as he looked at the main power board. It looked fine. A fuse was blown, luckily Henry came prepared as he switched the blown one with a new one. Henry then pulled down the main switch and with that the light came on again.
"Phew, that solved it. I wonder why the fuse is blown though, it's not that long ago." Henry then looked around for Katherine and found her staring at the nearby wall.
"Hey Henry look here." Katherine said showing off to Henry what she found. There was a gap visible in the wall. "What is it?" She asked Henry.
Henry didn't know as he looked around. It didn't seem that the nearby walls had any gaps or cracks in them so it couldn't be an earthquake. What did it mean? Henry pushed on the area and felt an indentation. He pushed it and all of a sudden the part of the wall just made way for them.
"Woah." Katherine gasped as she looked at Henry. "I didn't know our school had secret passages. That's so cool!"
"I didn't know either. I don't know, perhaps I should get the principal just in case." Henry wanted to go upwards but felt his sleeve pulled by Katherine.
"No way, that is so lame. Come on, let's check it out." With that Katherine pulled Henry into the mysterious room. Inside they found...   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
