Rebecca put down her bottle as she suddenly felt like something was off. Had she been drinking that this whole time? That didn’t seem right. As she looked down at the table, that seemed off too. Don’t these kinds of restaurants usually have candles and flowers on the table and fancy silk tablecloths and napkins? Her table had a paper tablecloth and some crayons almost as if it was tempting her to draw on it. And where was the fine china that normally adorned the table. These plates were made of flimsy plastic and had Sesame Street characters on them and the silverware if you could even call it that looked dull and almost fake like it had come from a playset.
As the waiter approached their table, she noticed he was carrying two menus, one regular menu which he handed to Matt and a kids menu which he placed in front of Rebecca.
