Finding The Perfect Spot

Here in Colorado, the season has definitely changed to fall. The temperatures are dropping, and the north wind is howling. This inspires me to go to my favorite cozy nest and log into Writing.com.

I have an office in a spare bedroom of my home. I actually love this space for reasons I won't get into here, but it isn't where I like to participate in the various contests and activities. When I am looking to dig into WdC, I want to be in the recliner in my living room. I start by placing a soft blanket that covers my entire recliner. I have a small pillow for my low back, and another soft blanket for my lap. I have a beverage (ice water or herbal tea if I am behaving myself, but don't be surprised to see an iced coffee) and possibly an easy-to-munch snack within easy reach. I have at least one warm and fluffy Chihuahua-mix snuggled in the chair with me. I like to wear fuzzy socks and a light sweater for maximum coziness (see why this is a cooler weather activity?). The television and radio are off if I am writing (I find them too distracting), but can be on if I am doing other types of activities.

One winter a few years ago, I was happily ensconced in my recliner/nest, writing about a story about being online while happily ensconced in my recliner. Yeah. To make it even more annoyingly meta, I am currently writing this while in my recliner/nest about a story I wrote a few years ago while in my recliner about being in my recliner/nest.

Still with me? Here is that story, in case you are curious "The Blue Screen of DeathOpen in new Window.. Now you know where to find me on a chilly day. I encourage you to share your happy place to settle into when you visit WdC.
