The name "garnet" comes from the Latin granatus ("grain"), possibly a reference to the Punica granatum ("pomegranate"). Garnets are found in many colors including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black, pink and colorless. The Garnet is a stone of purity and truth as well as a symbol of love and compassion.
