THE PAIN OF LOST LOVE

O love that I once knew,
Where have you gone to?
O love that changed me,
Why have you deserted me?
O love that brightened my day,
Why did you slip away?
O love that brought me joy,
Why did you have to destroy?
My thoughts are still of you,
But you have found someone new,
And I must suffer for a season,
Trying to think of your reason,
For leaving me and ending my dream,
My pain is extreme,
I know that time will heal,
But for now only sadness I feel,
In my life you were a beautiful part,
Part of you will remain in my heart.
