These are pictures taken on Caddo Lake, the largest natural lake in Texas. Caddo Lake is a place of unparalleled natural beauty. Easing through stands of giant cypress trees, I found my breath taken away by the beauty of the lake.

Giant lillypads carpet many spots of the waterway and are festooned with beautiful flowers during the season.

Even though the lake is a favorite tourist and fisherman's destination you can still find backwaters to quietly paddle through and you can almost imagine what it must have been like for those hardy pioneers who first fished the placid waters of the lake.
