| My Dad called a hummingbird a 'belligerent bastard' today. I'm pretty sure that's the first time that's happened to a hummingbird in the history of the world. |
| Saw two guys hitchhiking yesterday with a sign that read, "Won't Kill You." I didn't chance it. |
One of my favorite things about Facebook: When a 'friend' has daily posts like, "I'm so @#$%ing mad right now. I've #@$%ing had it! Things are going to change starting now..."
Other friends reply, "Oh dear, what's wrong???"
"I don't want to talk about it."

| I have the house all to myself this weekend. What's a suddenly and temporarily single man to do??? |
| The hated dandelion is welcome at my home. Come, my little yellow friend, and find refuge in my yard. Here you will find peace and acceptance for you are purdy in thine eyes. |
| In the past few days, I've actually heard from two of those long-lost and vanished wdc souls I talked about in my last entry. If you blog it, they will come. |
Haha....I guess you're right. I've conformed to the modern impotence joke, but in my defense I'm talking about brain impotence and not whatever other kinds might possibly exist that I know nothing about. |
| I feel like writing, but I'm brain-dead lately. Need stimulation. Is there Viagra for the brain? I wouldn't even mind if it stayed erect longer than 4 hours. |
| Saw a tow truck hooking up an ambulance on the highway last night. You know you're having a bad day when you need a tow to the hospital. |
| It's not as much fun getting carded anymore now that pretty much anyone without a walker and an oxygen tank gets checked. |
| My right shoelace always comes untied. No matter what pair of shoes I'm wearing. Only the right one. I must figure this out. |
| Addition or subtraction...either would work. Stuck on 18 forever. I hate 18, remember? 6 + 6+ 6.....666. Help. |
| Very pleasantly surprised to log on here this morning and have 5 or 6 of my favorite bloggers to read. Generally it's 0 to 1. A resurgence perhaps, or just a fig newton of my imagination? |
| 80 degrees today. Buster wants to fish. |
| Hi, notebook. Hi. I've missed you. Are we still friends? |
| Hey, lazy bones. Where the heck are you? |
| I haven't exactly been a frequent flier around here, but you've completely dropped off the face of the earth. Hope things are going okay and I just wanted to wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving. |
The 3-year-old neighbor of the newlyweds scribbled out a note for them the other day. When my daughter-in-law asked him what it said, he replied, "I'm gonna baby you up."
I like it. It's my new come-on line. "Honey, tonight I'm gonna baby you up." haha. I think this could catch on. Toddler approved. |
| You know, if it weren't for the stuffy nose and sneezing and sore throat and lack of energy, colds wouldn't be that bad. |
Darn California visitors gave me my first cold in years. Darn Californians.
I'm going camping. I like camping. |
And then only two remained. The big ones...Ma and Pa in-law. And their 14-part, 14 HOUR DVD series on understanding the bible that they are just DYING for us to watch with them before they go.
Should I just get it out of the way in one intensely fun-filled 14-hour block? Then they'd have no reason to stay anymore. |
| YOU HAVE TO BLOG even if WDC is now a proper social networking thing... blogging is key |
Best...wedding...EVER!!! But now it's survival time as guests linger into the second week. In-laws making their presence felt strongly....must....remain.........strong...
In another note, for some reason some of the comments in my notebook don't show up sometimes. I missed 2 or 3 from last week because of this. They weren't there....then they were...then they weren't. I'll bet this doesn't happen on Facebook. I'm outraged...in a non-outraged kind of way. |
My peaceful world will begin to shatter in less than an hour....in-laws incoming....from the south...then the west...then another round from the south....
But in less than 48 hours, I'll have a new daughter....and she's super cool. So it's worth it. |
party! you have a bioblock.. that is.. but the last two sentences are my favourite |
| T-minus 5 days, 4 hours, 9 minutes till liftoff. All systems checked. Families beginning to arrive from other regions. Expect turbulence for the remainder of the flight. Roger that. 10-3.....uh...10-4.... |
I went to the mall tonight for the first time since last Christmas. I petted a bunny. In my previous life as a gopher I didn't like bunnies, but now I do.
I also had a strawberry-banana Julius. Standard mall food. |
| A social security number has 9 digits. Mine has two repeats...6 and 1. That should give you a start to stealing my identity. Good luck. |
| I'm cruising through Walmart today and pass the cake mixes, so I think...yeah...I want cake. For no reason. I just want it. So I buy my favorite cake mix, yellow, and grab the chocolate frosting (this font represents the frosting, in case that was not clear)...like I've done 4 billion and 11 times before. Get home, bake the cake, let it cool, then open up the frosting to find.... |
| My droid comes with a Kindle and I've downloaded a couple of books. It's fun to carry around a library in your pocket, but the font is small. Unless I change the font size...then it's not small anymore. You can fit about 4 words on the screen at a time. |
| Today's FB Moment: For the wedding weekend, my in-laws are staying at the same bed and breakfast as the daughter-in-law he constantly feuds with and tries to avoid. Neither of them know the other is staying there and I'm not telling. I can't wait. |
| I also like this for the same reason, but also because it's so feminine. |
| I kind of like this color. A lot. Mostly because I think it would make a great wall color with crisp white trim for my beach house. Yup, that's me dreaming, just as my nickname suggests. Nice talking with you tonight, BTW. |
| I think I'm going to make it through August without getting skunked. |
An oncoming driver risked their life and mine by swerving to protect a turtle on the highway tonight. Darn hippies. & to turtles everywhere, man.
There is no turtle emoticon. This color will have to do as it is somewhat turtle-like. |
Here is a link to the best poppy seed bread recipe I've ever tried - and I've tried many! Just use muffin tins instead of a bread pan and cut the baking time by about 10 minutes. http://www.justbestrecipes.com/soup-stew/norma-s-poppy-seed-bread.html |
| Ah, that familiar late summer 24/7 smell of campfires. You'd think eventually there would be no more forests to burn. I blame the liberals for planting more trees. |
| I wish I had a poppyseed muffin to go with my coffee. If I had the muffin but no coffee, I would still feel underprivileged. I'm greedy. I want it all. |
| Tuesday's Moment: Big feud being rekindled between my father-in-law and his son's wife concerning my son's upcoming wedding...who should stay where while up here, etc. This should be more entertaining than the actual wedding. Cool. |
Hey Party! Love the Facebook moment concept. There are so many times when I can't post the status I want to post on facebook because of the mixed audience of family, friends and coworkers. May have to borrow this idea for such moments. |
I did something I really regret yesterday.
But I did catch 57 fish. And had a close-up look at a really BIG bear. And an afternoon bat. He was big, too. |
| Sunday: Watched Cowboys and Aliens yesterday. Eh...loved the idea and it didn't actually suck, but I have to admit I expected better. Film makers got lazy I think. Good start, but a slow steady decline from there. It was fun, though. |
| Saturday Morn FB Mo: I think I will see Cowboys and Aliens today. The movie, that is. |
Looking forward to this vacation. Peace and quiet.
Friday's Facebook Moment: The Facebook app for a Droid needs work.
| Happy Birthday, Dad. Leos rock. They roll. They roll some rocks. |
| Wednesday's Facebook Moment: I've needed long sleeves with my coffee the past few mornings. A hint of an early fall or just a fig newton of my imagination? I'll go with the fig. |
| Tuesday's Facebook Moment: I weighed myself this morning. Haven't done that in months and months. |
| Speaking of 'where's the love', not only did you forget my birthday in July but also my account b-day, which was Aug 13. I wouldn't haven't mentioned it but I was browsing through Blogville and saw your newest post.Seems you are becoming a badge whore, a numbers man, and I'm worried. Not to mention the content of some of the - but I won't go there. Still,I'm very worried. Is an intervention needed? Just say the word and we'll blast the REAL Satan right out of your ass! Hahahaha! |
Monday Thoughts: I'm a little disturbed by the rudeness of the current version of Blogville. I've tried. I've reached out. Silence in return. Where's the love, man?
I will keep trying. I have faith goodness still exists out there somewhere. I will NOT be crushed. |
Today's Fa-Bo-Mo: It's Sunday. Buster wants to fish. What movie? No googling.
Yes, I'm talking to myself. This can happen at times....like now. |
| Today's Facebook Moment: I have a headache....and the coffee's gone. Maybe I really do need a Facebook page to share this kind of useful information to a broader audience. |
| Today's Dilemma: I found 2 hidden bags of M&Ms tucked in the filing cabinet. Doesn't feel fight to let them be. |
| Need more color in here. Otherwise Jannie will never visit. Plus, it just looks nice... There. |
| Sadly, not many got it, I'm afraid. The ratio of views to reviews is astonishingly in favor of the first. Why is that? Anyway, I changed the description to clue people in after the first review proved the general audience was not going to know what I was talking about. I really thought I included enough hints, but apparently not. The host of the contest got it though, but then I knew she would! |
| Venting: I just posted a story to a contest and I'm getting that old familiar feeling of .... anxiety? But, I'm back in the saddle again, I guess. Every entry is another exercise of the mind. :) |
| Poor neglected notebook....there there, don't be sad.... |
| I'm waiting for the news... you sure do know how to make a woman worry... *sigh* |
party!!! um..do you know how lana is? |
Since I can't return your visit by commenting on your blog, I'll just leave you a quick note here. Well now . . . that's down. |
for your blogging, blog comments and thank yous.. |
... ... |
| Party, 'ave you ren oft with Summer? Kan't see you two no more... |
| See, it has been more than a day.... |
GRA PE ? |
Happy Birthday! |
Checking people's Notebook to see if this is where they've been scribbling... or umm... drooling on blank sheets of paper... |
PAR TY |
Pbththththththth!
Sorry. I'm apparently creative enough today to write something better. |
| Hey! Your notebook is actually getting used! Who needs Facebook when we have this?? |
Okay, I changed my mind...I have a message:
I N W Y R R A A Y R A T S B !
Tee hee hee |
| Once upon a time, I tried to post a message here from my phone, but, it never went through. Here I am again, hoping that this time it will make it. I just wanted to tell you tha I want to S T L L of Y A & A while S you A M N B A N L!!! I wonder how long it will take for you to figure that out. *giggle* I N to K Y L I N T A that I B, M S S B. |
| I'm guessing mountain climbing and white water rafting. If so, I'll let you know when and where and you can come along.I certainly won't be doing that around here. I need real mountains and a mighty river. Any more on your list? Do you even have a list? If not, start one. |
| Oh, this could be fun . . . |
| Hey, this is kind of...different. I need to have a look around and see what else is new! |
| I'm so confused......I don't understand this whole scribble concept. Then again, it DID take me an hour to figure out how to become a fan.... |
| *Ahem* Don't you think it's past time you graced us all with some of your humor and blogged something? Look at me, party. I'm already turning blue here from holding my breath and waiting! |
| I love the questions......there is no where? |
| by great philosophers.... |
| *scribbles all over the place in deep purple hues* Hope you are having a fantastic Monday! |
| Scribbling again on your notebook...Just to bug you and make you look!!! HA! As a thought...do you think this can become annoying to have to answer a notebook entry as well as all your blog visits and visitors? Do you have all day, because it may come down to that, you knowww... |
| Yeaaaaah, Facebookvasion, everywhere you go, it's gonna come after you. Thanks for stopping by Party, now I can def. keep in touch. |
since you would not go to Facebook... it has come here... yes, I blame you and I'll be sure to blast you inbox with dumb notes... |
| Scribble...Scribble...Scribble! Just me scribbling a note to wish you a wonderful day there!!! |
just testing to see if the writingML works here too... *giggle*
but, seriously... where are you??? *pouts* |
