100 word contest
by malibu
Rated: E | Short Story | Sports | #1186707
This is my entry into the 100 work contest
Pounding tremors recherché through his soul, oxygen starved blood squeezing, twisting, circulating violently, urged by unrelenting determination. Streamlined muscles ripple and contract under taunt tanned skin, fighting exhaustion, soaked in icy penetrating fingers of sweat. Colours blur, a brilliant kaleidoscope dancing with feverish anticipation, thunderous rumbling grandstands roaring support, pride, patriotism. Sharp winds whip around checked flags, convulsing wildly like fatally hooked sea trout. Fame, riches, glory beckons loudly, poisoning sacrifice, honor, distinction, all squashed beneath fanatical footsteps. Victory torments, tantalizing sweetness just within reach. Tireless, endurance never falters, ragged breaths strain devoted allegiance.

He crosses, completion. Realisation. Satisfaction.

Winner.
