Women and War
by Breezy
Rated: E | Poetry | Women's | #1301981
written for the women all over the world who lived through world war two
You make me build your gun
So that you can kill my brother,
You take away my son
So that he can kill another’s

You starve my little daughter
So that you can feed my son,
Tell him he can be a man
Soon as he can shoot the gun

And then you take my lover
Though I am with his child,
Make him kill men blindly
Like a creature of the wild

And when my lover takes a bullet
Cause he was not trained for war
You take away his only child
So he too can fight your war

And when at night I weep and cry
For the men I’ve lost to war
You won’t even spare a single thought
For the woman who must endure
