Darkness

Darkness sprung away,
negative captions
images, inside my mind.
Funny what I like the most
was once what scared me.
The irony of what fear turned into.
Comfort is the darkness now.
Life bled in the silence,
darkness sheltered it and cared.
Enough to come around
and befriend my innocence.
Monsters and goblins never hurt me,
quiet and blindness calmed me down.
And soon I became a dependant.
Solitude increased, stillness seeked me out.
Darkness told me not to fear,
and in my mind I had no doubt.
