The rise and fall of a chest
The swell of lungs.

The snore of a sleeping child.

Bubbles spilling out of a swimmer's nose
The steady beating of a soldier's heart

A gasp at something surprising
A sigh at a truly peaceful time.

The power behind words
The power behind life.

And laughter.

It's what makes everything possible.

The inhale
The exhale.

Breathing.
