Hiya! When I joined WdC, I had no idea what a bitem link was, or how to link a review, or how to post in a forum. It can be confusing and discouraging when you struggle, so I have put together this quick guide to walk you through some of these common issues. How to Post in Forum Reply to an Existing Post How to Post a Bitem Link To post a bitem link, you will need to use WritingML code in the text area of the post. The curly bracket is used for links here on Writing.Com. Regardless of what kind of link you are making, it will begin with a { and end with } . In the center of these two brackets is where you place what you want to link. Items can be linked using the 'b-item' link. You just need to type b-item followed by a colon and the ID number of the item you wish to link. For example, {b-item:#######} Replace the #’s with the ID number of the item. Ensure there are no spaces between any of the characters, and don’t forget the colon. For example, if you enter {b-item:1535164} it will yield:
The dash isn't all that important, with it or without it, the result will be the same. The other characters are all necessary for success. How to Post a Review Link A review link is much the same as a bitem link, the difference being the 'b-item' part of the code. To link a review, you must place the word review within the brackets, followed by a colon, as well as the review ID number. The review ID number can be found in the 'Success' message available after sending a review. Your link will be typed in like this: {review:3490721} It will appear as this once submitted: Review of "Jess Waits for the Circus" There are many different kinds of links. All links have the curly brackets and colon in common. For a full list of link types, check out this link: WritingML Help If you have any questions, comments, or concerns feel free to send me an email. I am more than happy to help members understand Writing.Com better.
