Do You Dream of Me
A poem about a relationship that has lost its fizzle |
| Do You Dream of Me The rhythm of your breathing your chest moving up and down I watch for any sign that you are dreaming I listen for any sounds But I see no evidence of this, of fantastical dreaming, no fluttering eyelids Just peaceful sleeping Do you ever dream of me; of the passion we used to feel of the way we used to be Do you feel the same way still We aren't as close as we used to be Our world does not consist of intimacy Just an existence of predictable peace No passion or spontaneity |
