(Continuing saga of Skye Fire and Thunderhawk. May they walk in peace and happiness.)
A Maiden’s Heart

The evening’s cool breath kisses the softness
Of Skye Fire’s cheek, her eyes fixed on the way
The silent fog swirls with approaching night.

Leaves rustling like many spirits, restless
With the heady time that filled the dying day.
The images in the maiden’s eye take flight.

Bright hopes and dreams her girlish heart paints
Burst like the ripe buds of tender springtime.
She floats on love’s sea – the mandala’s charm.

Gone the longing of youthful constraints,
A woman basks in fulfillment sublime.
She has found her mate, walked arm in arm.

Thunderhawk holds her heart, she is content.
Spiritwolf calls as the gentle wind sighs
A song like babies’ laughter in her ears.

In the fullness of time, her fears spent,
They will walk life’s trail in wide-eyed surprise.
On butterfly wings, life’s beauty appears.
