FOR A CONTEST
In Dreams

I often see myself as others want me to
Not the way I really look, but how I look to you
I get so sad it worries me, that I care what you say
But each night I go to sleep, as my heartache drifts away.

In dreams I am young again, and slim as I should be.
Now you see the beauty, when you look at me.
Long blonde hair,and flawless skin
Now you see my beauty, that I keep hidden within.

In dreams I am popular, everyone's special friend
Always know just what to say, I never do offend
No more sitting alone, when lunch time comes around
Never to hear the laughter, not always a happy sound.

But I don't live in Dreams, as I sometimes have been.
And I wish there were someway to show you who I am
So I go on trying to be the best, though not good enough it seems
And escape to the perfect world that only exists in Dreams.
