Perspectives in time
how fast
or how incredibly slowly
it passes.
Leaving us behind in its wake
or stretching out
to encompass days or merely a moment.
As a child a summer waxes full
yet when older
it passes by in a
blink of an eye.
Sometimes
I want to hold on
to a single moment
for a week or so,
but I can't; have to rely
on faulty memory to keep it solid.
Our days or years;
a bouquet of moments
kept in a watered glass
still fade or wither
because we can't stop time.
Just hope the mental photograph
stays clear and fresh.
