Oh, Mr. Hartman,
Whereforth didst thou go?
I still see you daily
On the SNL show.
You've kept me enraptured
With your charm and your wit,
Since your days in Pee Wee's Playhouse
When you played the pirate.
You weren't only funny,
Your clothes always fit.
As the news guy on Radio,
Your spot was a hit.
When you crooned as Sinatra,
Played some other part,
I always could tell
You gave all from the heart.
Ensemble cast movies
You'd write and perform,
In syndicated reruns
Will now become your norm.
Your impact on this world
Is frozen in time,
An unfortunate evening
When you knew cocaine wears down the mind.
No more new movies, sit coms, or skits,
What has been recorded is all that we'll get.
So go on and party up there
With John, George, and Chris,
And know, here below,
Your humor will be missed.
