*Snow3* Polls *Snow3*

Polls are interesting to participate in and fun to create. Many times, the outcome is rather surprising. So how easy is it to start one? It's very simple!

1. First of all, you need to think up a question. A few examples are: What is your favorite color? Who should play the main charater role in 'The Da Vinci Code'? Why do you think our weather has been weird lately?

2. Next, you must provide up to five wide ranges of choices. Try to represent a variety of selections for writing.com members to vote on, not just the side you would pick.

3. Now click on Writing near the top of your screen. Several forms are provided for you to choose from. Click on Poll in the left column near the bottom. The Create a User Item window will appear. You will find the structure much like creating a Static Item except for when you get to : Section 5: Item Type Specific Settings.

4. Section 5: Item Type Specific Settings : Note the examples given and then continue on. Type in two to five choices, each one no longer that 125 characters. Finish the form and click Save Item. That's it!

5. Be sure to visit your newly created poll and look it over carefully, checking for typos and/or anything else you may want to change. Make corrections right away. You will receive a bigger response if your spelling is accurate and you use proper grammar. *Wink*

*Note1* Please note...

*Snow3* Voters must be a member of Writing.com to participate.

*Snow3* You must have at least one vote before it will show up in the poll listings. Also, be sure your poll is rated properly, as this could keep your poll from showing up on the listings, too.

*Snow3* No one will be allowed more than one vote per poll.

*Snow3* To take part in other polls, click on User Polls toward the top of your window. It's the one with a checkmark next to it. *Smile*

I hope to find more new newbie polls in the near future!

Love, Cubby “)

*Snow3* Newbie Items Submitted by Members *Snow3*

*Frown* Somehow I missed most of these in a previous newsletter. While the majority of these Newbies are no longer 31 days old or less, I would still like to feature their submissions, as they would have qualified at the time they had been sent in. My deepest apologies! As for all but one submission sent in this time, I'm sorry to say that those Newbies are well over the 31 day period, so I could not showcase them. *Frown*

*Snow1*~ Yeah, Feedback! ~*Snow1*

*Shock* What? Only one this week? *Laugh* You are not suppose to be making this easy for me, ya know?!?! *Bigsmile*

*Star* PastVoices
*Snow2* Cubby,

As always, I come away learning as much as a newbie. Next month will be two years for me here and I still have days when I am not sure of what I am doing.

Cubby's Question of the Month
Do the holidays inspire you... or take away your inspiration because you are so busy? I'd love to hear your feedback on this.

The holidays always inspire me! My inspiration interferes with my busyness and some projects don't get finished in time. This year I started projects a little earlier and at least the grandchildren's ornaments were dry enough to mail this year.

There is magic in the holiday I want to carry all through the year. I honestly feel we should all do that. For years, I have attempted to get lots of lights on my tree. This year I got a prelit tree. I have spent many hours lost in the lights and their meaning. A beautiful year indeed.

Thanks for the question.

PastVoices

I think starting early is indeed the key! However, I never seem to be on the ball enough to do that, lol! And so I lose my inspiration from all the last minute rushing around. You are so right when you say that there is magic in the holiday. Are you able to carry it all through the year? I think we are all so busy now, it's hard to hold on to that magic. Sometimes it appears out of no where and I have to quick grab it and hold it for as long as I can. *Smile*

Thank you so much for your thoughts, PastVoices!

Love, Cubby ")

How many books on writing do you own? What book(s), if any, would you recommend any writer to own?

*Heart* I'd like to give special thanks to The StoryMaster for helping me save this newsletter! I accidently deleted the whole thing and was absolutely devastated. I sent a quick Help plea to the SM and he responded promptly, explaining that since I had a Premium Membership, I could use the RCS option and retrieve my newsletter. Oh, my, I almost cried with relief! And so... Thank you, SM!!! I appreciate my Premium Membership and I also appreciate Programmers. *Wink*
