Syllables now stilled. A poem woven from leaves.
Syllables now stilled

         inspired by Virginia Woolf

The wave crashes upon the cliff's cold,
and deposits a drift of wood, a moth
that lingered by the flames
now burnt to ashes.

A flow of syllables now stilled.

Then,
this is life,
a single chance to light
a candle and in its glow,
dance by the seaside moon.

I opened up 6 "books" and put them in one folder to start going through my notepads and organizing my over 4,000 sketches so I can edit them. This one above is from last autumn.

It is so hard to organize the over 50 notepads they are written on; impossible to edit in the notepads themselves. So, I'm going to give this a try.

Another task: add new photos! Then I can link them to here and elsewhere and become more colorful.

I managed to scratch my eyeball with a jagged fingernail this morning. Not a nice feeling, but missed the lens ... ***whew***

It's Sunday, which means I'm at Z's drinking coffee and putting off cleaning and rearranging my room to later and a trip to Prairie Park until tomorrow when the buses run. It's Sunday and I know they are fiddling down in South Park, but I don't feel like walking there.

I need a moped. (and so I mope ...)

OVERHEARD:

The deli case is peeing. (slip, slip, slip?)

Up to our knees in big sycamore leaves (crunch, crunch, crunch?))

IMAGES:

A poem woven from leaves

Cloak yourself with the leather of oak,
hide hearts of your redbud leaves.
Bare your saw-edged roughness of elm,
so no one touches your smooth pear sheaths,
And do not bloom up in the Kentucky bean
among its fingered filigree,
or your fragrance will be known by me.
