Love is precious, but it's also difficult, and it has it moments of insanity.

Music Has Lost Its Wings
He cheated.

Writer's Cramp Prompt: Write a story or poem about finding out someone isn't who they said they are.

The Music Has Lost Its Wings

He cheated

The platinum promise
No longer fits.

His rose petals,
Have fallen to the floor.

The chocolates he gave me
I hurled down three floors.

For a nasty old spider
Wove a web full of lies.

Whispers once were fragrant.
Music fluttered like daffodils
Even workdays dressed in ribbons

Now there are no refrains to our song,
He wasn't who I thought he was.

All the world's pianos just got swollen,
And the cellos were abruptly unstrung.

Last Thursday at nine,
He slept with another
What a beast, what a fool, what a jerk.

I'm glad that he's gone,

But, the piccolos have all turned sour
No one can find the violins.

I'll never hear the middle of our song
For the music has lost its wings
