Musical Memories of Poepel Passed On
Blog City - Day 1095

A lot of celebrities, actors, musicians, and otherwise famous people died in 2016. Is there one you'll miss the most, or one who had any particular influence on any of your writing?

Some of the ones that happened are the ones you think are too young to go... David Bowie, Glen Fry, George Michael... music... many influenced my teenage years - the Eighties. Music has always been a creative source for me. I sing a lot.... and I often just make up my own words to random tunes.

My teenage years were years of poetry writing and listening to music - popular to classic. I even had a couple of friends who volunteered to DJ at the University of Guelph radio station - so there was a lot of alternative music in there as well - Depeche Mode and New Order - not the usual top forty radio hits.

I have always been one to focus on the words of a song. So without further ado, I give you listening memories of a time gone by... and some people lost to us as their voices sing on:

Glen Fry - The Eagles

David Bowie and Queen

David Bowie - Tribute to John Lennon

Live Aid moments:
