White scattered
on cold ground
white-grey aloft
cold mountains
cloaked by clouds

I wrap myself
with the fragrance
of lavender
add a blanket
to keep me warm

I draw it up
over my head
to block out
the sounds of this
November day

Behind the eyelids
a swirl of color
reds and olives
fading to grey.
