It's Friday ... doesn't matter...
Well, SusanFarmer is writing senryu for the 30dbc. I turned an 'innocent' comment into a tanka. Somedays I can't help myself. *Laugh*

"I think I've written too much maybe... and then I write more. Six months of going nowhere... even my Muse wants to travel." became a tanka found here: "[Scribbles on paper] A tanka [227]

Refried beans and bologna, more fried polenta. I need to finish the golden yellow-watermelon.

I have a bottle of horchata with moringa waiting for me tomorrow.

AQI steady at an unhealthy 164. If it breaks on Saturday that means: farmer's market, grocery shopping and wash. I haven't been outside since last Saturday, not even to take out the trash.

lizco252isback is livid about the upcoming elections. "Invalid Entry No, I don't think she is being an alarmist.

I've been holding back a bit on facefork and here at WDC. Political blogs are tricky because some people truly want kitties, puppies and unicorns. And I do get that. BUT ... Reality bites when your entire circle of family, friends, associates isn't White-priviledged or immune-by-wealth. I'm at risk and so are many of my loved ones. *Angry*

Honorable Mention for "Pool bot [172] (237 one syllable words) in "Second Time Around ~ Birthday Special. I'll take it!

Alpha has landed ... in Portugal. Luisport on disqus is in/near the eye 9 km from Batalha. We have Wilfred too. TD 22 in the Gulf was named Beta later today. Will we reach Theta or Iota?

AQI 160 with whitish skies. I'm skipping lunch out with my friends.

Joy in her poem "The Tenor at the Opera ends with "Sometimes truth can only be sung."

I do like this poem and message. As artists we try to connect in whatever way possible as "if his flame helped you to be more". Any emotion is better than numbness; any response is better than 'meh'. We feed off of it!

Music does reach people in ways that ink on a page does not. Much of poetry has it's origins in oration and music. It's an oral-aural art form that has been placed between pages like pressed flowers. It's only a remembrance, maybe a lingering fragrance, of what was once alive. If "joy gives us wings" than surely music helps us soar.

So I was inspired to write this:

Antique tenor

Once limpid
pools seep,
now covered with cataracts,
his falsetto soars;
sometimes truth can only be sung.

It feels a bit oriental like a senryū or tanka to me.

224 new covid cases in Montana; highest it has been (quite a few new cases in Missoula). We should go over 10,000 tomorrow and soon approach 1% of our population. US is over 2% with Louisiana, Florida and Mississippi over 3%. Color me unhappy.

AQI 158, temp 21 degrees. Rain still in forecast. I'm eating out of cupboards. Found an unopened jar of lemon curd. A bit dusty (on top) but it sure tastes good.

RUTH BADER GINSBURG DIES At age 87... couldn't live forever. *Heart*

"“My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”
