A terminal for all blogs coming in or going out. A view into my life.
Started July 1st 2019 for contests, etc. as other blogs are filling up and have other purposes.

Ferry boat between Solvorn and Ornes across the Lustrafjord i Sogn og Fjordane.

I'm starting a new blog because
BOOK
L'aura del Campo  (13+)
Online journal capturing the moment and the memory of moments. A meadow meditation.
#982524 by Kåre Enga in Montana
had over 1,200 entries and that was getting close to full. I don't want to trim it by deletion. I did that once, much to my dismay. Will be used more for poetry.

BOOK
Hoarfrosts from Hell  (GC)
Anything I'm not happy about or that I don't want in my main blog!
#997339 by Kåre Enga in Montana
is still hidden from the public and will remain so. It's more personal and full of angst. Was used for 30DBC for May 2020 and now used for Blogville.

BOOK
Enga mellom fjella  (13+)
Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.
#1317094 by Kåre Enga in Montana
was full... until the number of entries was increased. A mixed blog, mostly stories.

I'll be linking to
BOOK
On The Write Path  (13+)
ON THE WRITE PATH: travel journal for Around-the-World in 2015, 16, 18.

as I need to post there about my travels.

BOOK
O Pinions!  (XGC)
May my opinions gather wind under their wings and fly, perchance to soar.

is for my opinions. *Laugh*

BOOK
Nurture your Nature  (13+)
Look around. Let Nature nurture your Soul. I record images I sense and share them here.
#1439094 by Kåre Enga in Montana
was set up for nature observations and musings.

BOOK
Watt's Gnus  (18+)
On topics and today's gnus. Definitely opinionated. Set to 18+ for a reason.
#1439092 by Kåre Enga in Montana
come out of a need to share interesting stuff I come across. When I was young I did a small newsletter named as such. (or was it column in the newsletter? Been 30 years... I think.)

FOLDER
Flash Fiction  (GC)
Short 300 word, more or less, "stories" .
#2190336 by Kåre Enga in Montana
is where I put my flash fictions. Maybe someday I'll figure it out and have enough good ones to publish. Ratings vary and some are hidden from view.

I've started an appendix (I no longer have one personally) to keep track of my Space Cadet journals for Space Blog. It's a work constantly under construction. Mind the mess.
STATIC
Space Cadet - the never ending journal  (18+)
Journeys of an Alien Space crew.

I needed to start a folder for contests as there are so many deadlines and details to remember.

FOLDER
Conquest ... to keep track of contests  (18+)

I commented to Lorem Ipsum, Perhaps? :

"When I started [here at WDC] I was just so glad that I found a place to put what I was working on. When people actually began reading my blog... I was hooked. But looking ahead? By 2010, Blogville was Ghosttown as many went to Open Salon or Spacebook and then Tweeter. But Open Salon closed down and Spacebook was never set up for writers, more for Me-me-me and then became Click-Meme and Fakebook. Tweeter became infamous s***-Fling. So who knows about 2030... no way to know. By then I [may] be traveling to Mars or pushing up mutant mushrooms in the Nuclear-Wasteland formerly know as Montana."

I post this because ... it seemed to flow! Oh how I can wax poetic when it doesn't matter!

I've entered a couple contests. Silly me... in two weeks I'll be in Taiwan.

So before I leave, I need to write a "Dear Me" letter for the WDC contest. It will start:

"Dearest,

You're dead.

You'll only be remembered for what connections outlive your flesh... so make them now. Yes, I know you've tried. Make more. Not just awards and acclamations... those are cheap. The real gold is to be found in those postcards you sent from faraway places, the poems you wrote for someone, the hugs you gave when they were needed..."

And so on. My familial expiration date is 2034, but recently I've doubted that. My depression can overwhelm and I've neglected my health; and well... time wears away bones and all good intentions.

This is my second blog entry for today...

Stuck it here because there was no better place to stick it!

What books and/or movies are on your list to read/watch this year? What are your “go to” genres?

The first part is easy! Nothing. I don't have TV at home. I don't enjoy going to the movies. I'll watch something on the planes when I fly. Maybe catch something on the internet if I remember. Books? Whatever's available when I'm home because I don't take any with me when I travel.

The second part:

I like light reading. YA is fine (because it's usually well written). I prefer sci-fi, fantasy, mysteries. Anything that takes me somewhere else.

I no longer make time for tedious series of 1,000 page tomes. I read slow; I hear what I read. I've read romances and westerns but they aren't my preference.

I should read a biography... but not my style. Self-help? Not likely.

I do read poetry.

Mostly, it could be said that I don't read books for information. I use the internet for that. I read news and blogs and opinion pieces.

I also don't read to critique. I'm no literature major trying to dissect a dead novel. I seek connection in the real world not arguments over grammar. I'm more of a linguist, noting what IS, not what someone says it should be.

Plus, I create literature. I'm an artist, not a scholar.

The list for this prompt is blank.
