I think one of the greatest gifts ever given to me, aside from the salvation of my soul, was the gift of empathy. I took a course at a junior college where I earned my associate degree. It was Dependency Disorder so I was trained to be an addictions professional. The very first word the instructor said to me when I walked into the first class was "Empathy, Mr. Schrebe."

I asked him what he was talking about. He explained that if he could teach me the value and gift of empathy I would make a tremendous asset to the community. I have learned that empathy is essentially seeing the world through the eyes of another. It is identifying with their feelings.

I agree. Many fail to realize that love is more than an emotion. It is an action word that requires sacrifice and effort.

I plan to study and probably sleep a little. Right now I have a headache screaming for caffeine. I may have somebody take me to Starbucks where I can get a Java Chip Frappuccino with three shots of espresso. That will knock it out.

Welcome... Prompt: "What is your greatest talent? How did you become good at it?"

My greatest talent is messing things up? I had an accident several years ago that resulted in a skull fracture and traumatic brain injury. As a result, I can read instructions and still manage to mess them up. It's very frustrating at times. Today has been one of those times.
