Hi guys! You've just found the Jlog of Jade Amber! Now you might be wondering: "What in the world is a 'Jlog'?" Well, a jlog is a mash of journal and blog. Since they give you an option for a title: Journal/Blog, I decided to mash them together! Hence the name 'Jlog'. So please enjoy a cup of Joe whilst you read and I will try to remember to 'Jlog' every day. While we're at it, enjoy these quotes I found online: Wake up with determination, go to sleep with satisfaction. Be happy and smile. Don't call it a dream, call it a plan. Life is tough, but so are you. -Stephanie Bennett-Henry Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the smallest act of caring, which all has the potential to turn someone's life around. -Leo Buscaglia Side note!

Well, here we go. I have finished the Two Day Challenge, and entered into the What A Character contest. I hope I will be able to at least get a place in the contest. I don't care if I get 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, just as long as I get to have the exclusive Merit Badge; but I don't think I'm gonna win because they said put the word count in the piece, otherwise you will be disqualified; and I didn't do that, so I don't think I'm gonna win... Well, at least I tried, and that's what counts. |
I'm done with work for the week! Yay! No, not working with chores, that I have to work on ALL week long. No, I actually go to work at an actual shop. Okay, the reason I get to work there is because my mom's one of the bosses, but so what? I still get to work at an actual hair salon, and I'm already getting more experience at working than most people! Anyway, bye! |
What a day. Since it was the day after Christmas and they were a lot of bargains, Mom and I went shopping; but before shopping, we went to a movie: Sing. (cue opera music) A cute and humorous movie solely based on an animal about to become bankrupt and not wanting the theater he has loved so much to go to waste and animals singing. Yes, it was like Sound of Music and Zootopia mashed together. There were a few funny moments, mainly adult jokes that only the adults or teenagers would get. In fact, a friend of ours saw the movie and the parents laughed so hard at some of the jokes that some kids sitting next to them were looking at them like "Y'all are crazy." Afterwards, we went shopping for work shoes (for me) and bras...I won't tell you what happened because nothing big didn't happen. Later, I was so tired (snoozer ) that we went to eat, I was later more awake than before, but not a lot. Mom went shopping and we went homeward. A couple hours later, we starting watching the 1999 version of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and I at first thought "What are they saying? What's going on?", which is, of course, normal for most people. My dad, Jay O'Toole was chuckling at some of the parts, but later I was chuckling at the play, especially the part where someone was dressed up as a woman. (But I knew that was the way it was back then. Women could not participate in plays and other things of that sort, so men were left to play women roles and I'm sure got a lot of laughs; and all in all it was a good day. "Trip away, make no stay; meet me all by break of day." (A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare) |
Well we just got finished with opening presents and I am thrilled! Now I don't know whether to read or build Legos! Plus more presents on the way so stay tuned for more! But all in all mainly they were t-shirts, a Lego set, BOOKS!!!, and a few other things. Now we have to tidy up the living room (the downfall about Christmas... where's a robot maid when you need one?) and get cleaned up for company. Then after that I guess we can play with our new "toys" until company arrives. So, bye 'til later! |
Christmas Morning. Dad's still asleep (went to bed past 3 a.m. ((night owl))) and Mom's makin' Christmas breakfast: grits, scrambled eggs and bacon. Mmmmm. I already have guessed at a couple of the presents because they're obvious: a book and a book set from Mom and a bobble head doll from Dad (I accidentally looked at the receipt so I knew what it was and which character it is. ) We opened a bunch of the same presents last night (pottery that Dad and I painted) and Mom enjoyed the mug that I painted for her! (I mean who wouldn't? It's a special mug! I painted the coffee beans with my own thumb! It's as sweet as Dad's Father's Day mug that I made when I was a tyke!) But so far it's been good. I woke up at 6:30 'cause I just couldn't fall back asleep because IT'S CHRISTMAS Y'ALL! Anyway, breakfast is served. Bye! |
