I hate crutches, they make my armpits and shoulders both hurt. And I've almost fell down the stairs trying to navigate with them more than once.

That's so funny. It's also true of cats. My older cat won't climb up but now that our kitten does, he's been climbing and exploring places he never did before. Sometimes they just need the right incentive.

People here in the United States were warned about climate change years ago. Our Vice President in 1993, Al Gore, was an environmentalist. He talked incessantly about the issue warning something needed to be done to avoid destroying our planet. People laughed at him denying there was any such problem. He was right, they were wrong. I need to answer this prompt if I have time today. Have a good one!

59 years is incredible.

I can't imagine a love that intense either. And I'm very much in love with my husband. It's my second marriage, we've been together 20 years and married 16 years. If I had foolishly stayed in my first marriage it would have been 50 years. I left him before our 30th.

I've read a lot of his sonnets and wondered the same thing about the woman. I didn't realize there were 100 of them Kåre Enga in Udon Thani

that's a lot of mushy stuff.

There are different types of love. Her in the western colony we obsess with romantic/sexual love. The sex, however, must never be directly shown; we're cultural prudes.

Neruda wrote 100 sonnets for his future wife.

I mostly love (pine) from afar.

I wonder how many sonnets Neruda wrote. She must have been quite a gal!
Love is such a complex concept. What is love? The oft asked question to which no one has an answer. Would it be to sacrifice oneself to save another? I can accept a parent might do that to save a child. However that reminds me of the time I caught my ten year old son poking a lighted stick into a jerry can of petrol. I screamed, “don’t do that!” And I ran from the garage! So much for a mother’s love.

New Earth

Prompt: A Whole New World
If you were to create a new planet and a whole new world, what would it look like and what kind of people would its inhabitants be?

What a wonderful, inspiring idea it would be to start from scratch and begin all over again. Of course there’d be things I’d still keep, no good throwing the baby out with the bath water.

So I’d be Mother Nature and all the geographical wonders we have now, such as the mountains, the rivers and oceans would be there but there’d be a New World Order.

Population would be controlled. There are nine billion people on the planet now so no more than half that number would probably be optimal.
If I could control the climate too I’d ensure that there’d no extremes of weather. I, as Mother Nature would have my temperature controller in my hand to ensure the crops, animals, and humans received just the right amount of sunshine and rain.
Laws would be enforced to ensure the rivers and seas remained unpolluted. There would be no sicknesses and there would be no births until someone died, keeping the population under control. No famine and no dictatorships.
But the only trouble with this New Earth would be that it was boring!
