I hate crutches, they make my armpits and shoulders both hurt. And I've almost fell down the stairs trying to navigate with them more than once.

That's so funny. It's also true of cats. My older cat won't climb up but now that our kitten does, he's been climbing and exploring places he never did before. Sometimes they just need the right incentive.

People here in the United States were warned about climate change years ago. Our Vice President in 1993, Al Gore, was an environmentalist. He talked incessantly about the issue warning something needed to be done to avoid destroying our planet. People laughed at him denying there was any such problem. He was right, they were wrong. I need to answer this prompt if I have time today. Have a good one!

59 years is incredible.

I can't imagine a love that intense either. And I'm very much in love with my husband. It's my second marriage, we've been together 20 years and married 16 years. If I had foolishly stayed in my first marriage it would have been 50 years. I left him before our 30th.

I've read a lot of his sonnets and wondered the same thing about the woman. I didn't realize there were 100 of them Kåre Enga in Udon Thani

that's a lot of mushy stuff.

There are different types of love. Her in the western colony we obsess with romantic/sexual love. The sex, however, must never be directly shown; we're cultural prudes.

Neruda wrote 100 sonnets for his future wife.

I mostly love (pine) from afar.

I wonder how many sonnets Neruda wrote. She must have been quite a gal!
Love is such a complex concept. What is love? The oft asked question to which no one has an answer. Would it be to sacrifice oneself to save another? I can accept a parent might do that to save a child. However that reminds me of the time I caught my ten year old son poking a lighted stick into a jerry can of petrol. I screamed, “don’t do that!” And I ran from the garage! So much for a mother’s love.

I agree with the quote and have heard so many stories relating to teachers who’ve made a difference to someone.
I’m going to turn that quote on its head. I can’t remember much about my school years. I can’t remember one happy moment and that’s the truth of it. What happened? You may well ask and I can’t tell you because I’ve blocked those years out of my memory. The only thing I do know is I left school as soon as I was allowed to on my fifteenth birthday. I left thinking I was stupid! How terribly sad is that?
The only teacher whom I do remember terrorised me. I don’t know if she was a bully to everyone but she probably was. She scared me so much I took no notice of anyone else and was too busy keeping a low profile. This teacher was in my primary school and she set me up for failure.
It wasn’t until I began helping my own kids with their homework I realised I wasn’t dumb.
Since then I’ve earned degrees in counselling and tourism. My husband and I ran successful businesses and I discovered a love for learning which I never had when I was young.
So teachers never underestimate your power. You can use it for promoting a child’s self esteem or for the destruction of it.
