A new attempt to create a blog.

You may be familiar with my first blog attempt that was called Frog With a Blog. It was supposed to focus on my faith and how my faith shapes my life. However, it got way, way off track and ended up being a mix of everything. Late one night I was cleaning my port and had an itchy, twitchy trigger finger and decided my frog with a blog had to GO. POOF! And into the ExFiles abyss it flew!

I discovered I love taking to you, my reader. But, to me, your not just any ol reader.I feel more like I am talking to friends. Not random strangers. Even more, I consider many of you as extended family. So its natural for me to share things here that I'd likely not share elsewhere.

I've also learned the value of prompts. Let's face it, the bulk of my days are dullsville Not a lot happens when your essentially a shut in that never leaves the apartment except by ambulance to go to the hospital and thankfully, I have not had to go since last December. Therefore, I plan to utilize the prompts provided by a number of b!logging groups, especially on days I have nothing interesting to write about.

You should also bare in mind this is a semi daily blog and do not be surprised if days or even weeks go by with no entries. It is my intention to write daily or at least every other day...but I k ow ME. So, I make no promises😆.

I've had plenty of culinary disasters but fortunately my mind forgets.

I do try to eat whatever I cook. I did okay with rice this week.

It's finally 'winter' here in Udon Thani. Day temps may reach the 80s but night temps will be in the 60s. What a relief! I'll keep the balcony door open tonight.

It's hard to live in Thailand without a/c. The humid heat saps my energy.

I don't have an oven here, but there are plenty of sweets in nearby markets.

No, lol I'm all packed and ready for the rapture...no prep needed for that. But, I do plan on giving edible gifts for the holidays. There are several elderly people who live close by and they can't really cook much any more and no one else bothers to help them because they are not necessarily the nicest of people. So, I'm going to make some casseroles, pies, cakes, tarts, and who knows what else to take to them. Some of them have children and I know they can't afford much...so maybe a few goodies will cheer up their holidays.

I'm so, so sorry Tina. I think you should take the dog who started the fight to your vet ASAP (and keep them separated in the mean time).

Whichever dog grabbed the other's throat could have something neurological going on that needs to be addressed. I don't want to come across as super negative, but something this sudden and fierce doesn't sound like one dog is suddenly jealous of the other or wanting the other's treats. What I learned from experience is that something like what you described is more likely to escalate than go away. I love animals more than I love most people and I hate to tell anyone something that sounds so horrible–it tears my heart out to hear this has happened to your dogs and your family. I hope that I'm over-reacting to your story and this is something that training can help with. Maybe there's a medication the vet could prescribe. But what you described sounds like there might be something medically wrong, and I hope you'll get it checked out by a veterinarian to protect the dog who was the victim of the attack.

I am not a dog specialist but my brother had two SaintBernards who fell into this very proble. Any dropped food is seen as a gift. Unless specified to which dog it is far, they could fight over i. Now, this may not be the case for your dogs but it was what my brother dealt with. He dropped a small piece of cooked steak on the floor land the two chased each other around for it knocking literally everything over.

I don't actually "like" this. I only put that there because it's the only choice we have.

Unfortunately, I can't give you any advice. I think that your plan to keep them apart and to give them more to do is a good first step. You might try to watch some Cesar Milan videos on aggressive dog behavior. Maybe he has some tips that can be helpful. I understand that he is controversial in some ways, but his methods have saved more dogs' lives than harmed by far.
