Re: Genre Discussion: Dark
Dark is more world-view and subject matter than tone. Although included on WDC as a 'genre', it isn't. Any genre can be dark - even YA and children's stories. It's basically about how cynical and um...well...dark the world you create for your characters is; like dystopian (unfair/unjust), or some might consider our world to be dark. (Like me.)

As a horror writer, my own work doesn't scare me. Occasionally, I get creeped out by other horror writers, but it takes a lot to creep me out. *Laugh* You know what really creeps me out? A few days ago, right after I woke up, I was making the bed and a HUGE daddy-long-legs spider crawled out from next to my pillow and scurried across the sheets. I'd been sleeping with a spider! Now THAT CREEPS ME OUT!!

(Told you I needed a maid, Ariana.)
