Nah man: keep your words as you hear them. I've been a pro-Rock songwriter for years and it DOESN'T limit your possibilities, it shows your individualism in a world of platinum jingles, and it also shows the artist how you want YOUR SOUL to be portrayed. It does get a bit annoying though if you want it to be judged as a poem, but otherwise, it's your song, keep it your style. From personal experience, the songwriter who is true to the song 'll get the job. Anyone can write a gramatically correct jingle, it takes an artist to write a song.
