For my blog Prompt: ":Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Is there someone that I refuse to forgive? Am I holding onto any grudges or bitterness?"

I hope not. I work the twelve steps in my daily life, which are Christian living principles. One of them is not to hold onto grudges. Holding a grudge is like drinking poison and expecting somebody else to die. It's self-defeating. I ruminated about a cousin one time. I lost sleep over a fight we'd had. When I finally made peace with him I admitted that I had lost sleep over it. He had never given it a second thought! Good for him, bad for me.

Seeing the Earth from space made me write this poem. A Godly inspiration.

I know the Apollo astronauts experienced "Earthrise" when they orbited the moon. Buzz Aldrin said it was the "highlight" of his life and he became depressed after returning to earth. I can imagine that would be very depressing and I can guess that many people who ride Space X will also realize that being "out of the world" is the biggest thing they'll ever do as well. That could be depressing.

For my blog Prompt:
Psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Are you taking the time to feel His presence? Do you take time out of your day to just sit quietly? To still your heart and mind and soak up the love of God? Do you take the time to simply relax in your Father's arms? Do you take time to listen for his voice?

I think this is something that most of us neglect. Meditation is difficult because it requires concentration and patience. I have patience in most situations but I have a terrible time just relaxing. It makes me think of Martha, when she got angry that Mary would not help her. Jesus told Martha that Mary was doing the right thing to just sit at His feet and listen. I am antsy so I like to stay busy. I burn the candle at both ends. Sitting quietly is hard for me.

Jeremiah 29:13

Are you actively praying and digging into the Word everyday? Are you actively seeking God? Draw nigh to him and he will draw close to you. (James 4:8)

I try to get into God's word every day. as to actually reading a chapter, time does not always permit that. I am a seminary student so I am studying the Bible every day. I just can't always read it.

The challenge each soul faces
#1849542 by Prosperous Snow celebrating

Write about this item in your Blog entry today.

I think Prosperous Snow celebrating is spot on. Every soul on the planet faces peril. Life is a decision. In this life we decide where we want to go eternally. Satan is at war with God. He rebelled against God and has brought that spiritual war into the physical realm. We all must decide whose side we are on and to whom we declare allegiance. There is no middle ground. Not deciding for Jesus, the Son of God, is an automatic choice of Satan.

For my blog Prompt: "I ran across an article on the internet that has a list of questions to ask ourselves about our relationship with God. I would like to go through these questions in our blogs. This will help us examine ourselves and make sure our relationship is on target with God.

Prompt:
Question 1
Isaiah 59:2
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Do I have any unconfessed sin? You don't need to give details on this unless you want to. The Bible does tell us to confess our sins to one another so we can pray for one another. Do you have prayers you don't feel are being answered? Could this be a reason why? Does this verse say anything to you personally?"

My relationship with God is much better than it once was. There was a time that I would have been in the toilet with God. In the past three years my relationship with God has drastically improved.

Psalm 34:7
The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Do you believe in angels? Have you ever seen one? If you have, write about your experience. What are your thoughts and beliefs about angels?"

I believe angels are real because the Bible says they are. Case closed.

I do want to blog about something I saw on social media last night. It had a young punk on there talking about the Bible. He claims that Jesus lied repeatedly and that because Jesus lied the Bible cannot be trusted.

His argument is that Jesus told the disciples that there were some standing there who would not die until Jesus came back with "power and great glory". This is found in Matthew 24:33-36 and other passages. Since Jesus did not physically bring about the "tribulation and rapture" this poor, misled child believes Jesus lied. What the child does not understand is that Jesus did come back: At Pentecost in 33AD. The Kingdom was established and reigned for thousands of years, unrecognized by most. Matthew 24:33-36 was discussing the establishment of the church! If people would qujt trying to interpret the Bible in human, self-centered terms, and read it through Godly, other-centered eyes they would unlock its mysteries. What a lot of people do not understand is that God does not think in human terms. Isaiah says "My ways are not your ways, nor are my thoughts your thoughts."

God does not value the things we value. In fact, it is safe to say that the things God values are polar opposites of the things we value. We think in three dimensional terms. God thinks and talks in spiritual terms. We value selfish things. God values selflessness. This kid was misinterpreting scripture.

I have bi-polar I disorder and am currently out of medication. Apparently, the manufacturer of the medication is backordered so I have to do without. It is really tough dealing with the mood swings, but I try to be aware of it, not take anything personally, and let God handle the rest.

Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs Prompt: "Tell the story of one of your scars."

I have a scar on my right wrist. I had been cleaning my porch one day and I reached up to take down an old bird's nest that had been built in the eves. When I got it I caught the bottom of my right wrist on a nail and it ripped it open. I treated it and thought no more of it. Later that day the police showed up and hauled me off to a psych unit. Somebody had seen the wound and thought I'd cut my wrist to kill myself. The mental hygiene commissioner dismissed it immediately but the scar always reminds me of that.

I spent 4 1/2 hours at the allergist yesterday. He told me I am allergic to indoor molds and outdoor molds. I live in West Virginia, a state that spends a large amount of time wet. Molds are part of life around here. No wonder I am constantly half sick. The good news is that God has this and I am fine.

I am going to try to do all the blog posts today.

I owe apologies to my brother Jay O'Toole . He thought I was angry with him over a misunderstanding. We'd had a discussion about prayer and he took a different side than me. I must have overlooked his post because I did not respond. I didn't see the post. Jay O'Toole did the right thing. He reached out to me and we are fine. I want to give him kudos for making amends even though none were needed. That models Christian behavior!

I think love is an action word. Love does the next right thing for the next right reason. It puts the needs of others ahead of self. Love cares and serves. It is not self-centered.

I always wonder why we have to answer the questions with the automated system and then once we have a human we're asked the same questions. Is this tactic a way to thin out customer calls? What are your thoughts?"

I have reached the conclusion that it is a tactic to thin out customer calls. I could get really bizarre and say that it is big brother trying to control the masses. I think though that the work ethic has just gone to pot. It's also a matter of the bottom line. Robots work cheaply. You pay one flat rate and the robot screens your calls.

No. It is against my religion. A lot of people say it is just a superstition or for fun. My religion considers horoscopes idolatry.

My allergist appointment went fine. They made a pin cushion out of me. I am allergic to indoor and outdoor molds. He's starting me on a nasal spray and wants me to continue current meds.

For my blog Prompt:
1 John 4:17-21
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

This passage says we can know if we are made perfect in God's love by the way we love others. Just about the whole chapter actually talks about this subject. God is love. How do we show his love to others? Is there something you need to work on in this area?

There is a professor at Regent University named Bruce Winston. Dr. Winston wrote the book Be a Leader for God's Sake. In the book he describes the Greek work "agapao" and says that it is the word used in this very passage. Agapao means "Doing the next right thing" and basically implies that God expects us to do the next right thing in all situations. It also implies putting the needs of others ahead of our own. Sure I want a $6.00 hamburger, but the homeless person across the street needs a good meal. I skip the $6.00 hamburger and instead buy the homeless person something to eat. Love meets needs. That is what God expects of us. He wants us to meet the needs of others. Not necessarily their wants, but always their needs.

I personally think she is beautiful as is this poem. What do you think?"

I have known innerlight for several years. She is my nearest and dearest friend and colleague in writing. I have been privileged to watch her grow as a writer and as a human being in the time I have known her. She often doubts herself but as you can see from this poem she is incredibly talented. I am fortunate enough to know that she is publishing her first book. The publishers are expecting it to make a BIG splash in the poetry world and I have no doubt that it will. This poem is a sample of her work and it shows her brilliance. Something as simple as the budding of a flower can be made provocative as she succinctly proves.

June 9, 2021 I remember being a child on June 9 one year. I must have been about 10. I could not for the life of me imagine what I would be like on June 9, 2021, which at that time was fifty years away. Now it is June 9, 2021 and I am celebrating my 60th birthday. I am anything but what I imagined at 10 years old. I knew I would be a writer. Aside from that I never knew I would also be a preacher and a student.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this passage of Scripture. What does it mean to you?"

This scripture tells me that God is always faithful and dependable. God always makes fools out of scoffers and mockers and saves the righteous. He leads us through some pretty painful paths, but he uses that pain to our advantage. He makes us strong through our pain.

Greatest Gift  (E)
To Give of Yourself Unselfishly.
#2224354 by TheBusmanPoet

Write about the greatest gift in your Blog entry today.

I disagree with the author here. I believe self is the last person I want to take care of and give to. Mankind was made to take care of each other and to have fellowship with God. The fall of man in the Garden of Eden, be it real or metaphorical, led man to be self-centered and that is the problem in our world. Man is "homo incurvatus in se" curved in and focused on self.

Jeremiah 17:14
Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

This verse is talking about both physical and spiritual healing. What connection co you think healing and praise have? Do you think healing or praise comes first?

I tend to believe that either can come first. The reason for my thinking is that God has carried me through many sicknesses when I did not know I was sick. I had a 90% blockage of the left atrial artery, the one they call the "widow maker". I had three mild heart attacks if there is such a thing before having surgery to fix it. The doctor said I was a miracle. I also had a blockage of the renal duct, the big duct in the right kidney. My kidney nearly ruptured. Yet i was unaware of the problem until it hurt. God kept me from dying. So praise in those situations came after healing. In other situations I praised God because I knew He would heal me. My basil cell carcinoma on my face was an example.
