Once Buddha was traveling with a few of his followers.
While they were passing a lake, Buddha told one of his disciples,
"I am thirsty.
Do get me some water from the lake."

The disciple walked up to the lake.

At that moment,
a bullock cart started crossing through the lake.
As a result,
The water became very muddy and turbid.

The disciple thought,
"How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink?"

So he came back and told Buddha,
"The water in there is very muddy.
I don't think it is fit to drink."

After about half an hour, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back
to the lake.

The disciple went back,
and found that the water was still muddy.

He returned and informed Buddha about the same.

After sometime,
again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back.

This time, the disciple found the mud had settled down, and the water was clean and clear.

So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to Buddha.

Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said,
"See what you did to make the water clean.
You let it be,
and the mud settled down on its own,
and you have clear water."

Your mind is like that too ! When it is disturbed,
just let it be.
Give it a little time.
It will settle down on its own.

You don't have to put in any effort to calm it down.
It will happen.
It is effortless."

Having 'Peace of Mind' is not a strenuous job, It is an effortless process, so keep ur mind cool and have a great life ahead...

A Sweet Story to start your day with....

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examzine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa , and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker 's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.

The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.
Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, ''I know why.''

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation. It has changed the way I try and live.

He said,''People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?'' The Six-year-old continued,

''Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.''

Live simply.

Love generously.

Care deeply.

Speak kindly.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.

Take naps.

Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good. Think good thoughts for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of LIFE...Getting back up is LIVING...

It was in 1922, when the present Ashram at the foot of the hill first started, that I became a permanent resident. At first there was only a thatched hut over the Mother's shrine and a second small hut that served as a kitchen. There were only a few of us then. There were no Ashram servants in those days.

We did all the work ourselves, with Bhagavan working along with us. Puja was performed twice a day, as it still is. We spent our time doing Ashram work, chanting sacred songs, walking round the hill, meditating and reading spiritual books. Earlier Bhagavan had been more silent and aloof; later, when crowds began to come, he was necessarily more distant, but at this time he took part in everything, guiding and helping in every activity of the growing Ashram. He was our Lord and Guru and was always with us. Devotees used to bring us provisions when they were needed and we never felt any want. We used to share things out as they came. Sometimes there was even more than we could dispose of on the spot. We even used to make tea and coffee when the ingredients were available.

Though this was an idyllic state in itself, the essence of it was our striving for Realization. Having attained a human birth, that is the only goal worth aiming at, for it is unalloyed, eternal bliss and peace.

We can dwell on the name or form of Ramana or neither. Repeating the name ‘Ramana' inwardly is itself a good sadhana for those who do not use Self-enquiry. Or by concentrating on him intensely and constantly we may find in him the fire of Knowledge which will burn up our ego and convert us into him so that we realize our identity with him who is the Self of the self. The state of bliss thus attained through merging into the Guru is called Guru Turiya. It is a matter for experience and cannot be explained in words.

The ego is only an accretion, a shadow, a ghost, an unstable outcome of the combination of chit and jada, consciousness and matter. It is the source of all mischief in our state of ignorance. Nothing is lost by its destruction. It obscures and conceals the true Self of us which is identical with Pure Consciousness. This false ego is to be dissolved by steady enquiry into it or by the Grace of our most gracious Sat Guru Bhagavan Sri Ramana.

"Dear Mr. Rahul Gandhi,

Millions of people follow Narendra Modi as their leader. They accept him as their role model.
How many people in our Country consider you, Rahul Gandhi, as their role model?

The Country which doesn’t want to be recognised as dynastic followers, elected Narendra Modi, but you represent the same dynasty which was rejected by the people. Apart from having a Gandhi tag, what is your achievement in any sphere of life? In fact, the masses have been deceived for too long - remind us - what exactly did you achieve?

Every year Narendra Modi, on his birthday, meets his mother and she gifts him with a copy of the Bhagvad Gita, as an indication to follow the right path.
What does your mother do?

Narendra Modi, when he entered the Parliament for the first time, touched the floor of the House, and called it *the Temple of Democracy*. Do you also consider the same? Have you *ever* respected the Parliament this way?

After becoming PM, when he resigned as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he donated Rs.21,00,000 of his salary amount to the Children's Education Fund, for the children of Government employees.
Have you ever contributed anything to the country Rahul?

Under PM Modi's leadership - in a span of 4 years -+ 600 terrorists have been eliminated.
How many terrorists were killed when your Government was in power?

Since Independence, more than 30% of poor people could not get a Cooking Gas connection, but in a span of 4 years Modi has given Cooking Gas connections to over 50 million people. Same on electricity supply to villages.
Why could your Congress Government not do it while in power?

Modi doesn’t entertain any family favours or nepotism, but your family has dominated the entire party and considers the party as their
personal property. Why? How did Robert Vadra get so many favours when your government was in power?

The Doklam issue did not start after PM Modi's Government came to power. It started many years ago, when your Government was in power. It's PM Modi who made the Chinese withdraw their troops.
Were you and *are you* capable of doing that?

During a span of 4 years, there isn’t one corruption case against PM Modi or his Government.
Can you show any period during over six decades (60 years) of Congress Government when there was no corruption? No!

You and your party people mock PM Modi as chaiwala. He accepts that he sold tea. We do not consider anything wrong with that and with earning an honest living.
Can you accept what you sold, and tell us if/what have you done to earn an honest living?

Narendra Modi travels to different countries for the benefit of the Nation.
Can you tell us for whose benefit do you go abroad?

PM Modi cleared OROP for soldiers, he got bulletproof jackets, helmets & other safety/professional equipment for our soldiers. What did your Government ever do for them?

He included more than 300 million people into *Jan Dhan Yojana* within 3 years. Why wasn’t it possible during your party's 10 years rule?

In order to save the girl child, PM Modi started *"Beti Bachao, Beti Padao"* Campaign.
What has the congress (you) done to save the girl child in the country Rahul?

Mr Modi started *MUDRA Life insurance* schemes, which are benefiting tens of millions of people in the Country. How many schemes did the congress bring during 10 years for benefit of the people of this Country?

Modi took a brave decision to conduct surgical strikes in Pakistan, Burma and Bhutan to protect our borders. What did your party do to protect our borders during Congress Government?

Appreciating PM Modi’s work and leadership, he was invited by US, Britain, Australia, Canada, Bhutan, Srilanka, Afghanistan, Nepal and Japan to address their Parliament. How many countries invited you when you were in Government?

In just 4 years, PM Modi became the most influential person in the World and was named *"Times Person of the World"*. You are in politics since 2004. What have you achieved so far?

Narendra Modi, in front of 22,000 people in Madison Square Garden, New York, declared that *we are not a Nation of beggars and snake charmers, but a Nation of rulers*.
Do you have the guts and spine to praise our Nation like that Rahul? Congress Govt. run by your family since independence was always busy in saying *"Gareebi hatav" & was always successful in proving our India is a very poor country*. Did your Govt. ever try to improve our nations pride & impression abroad? *How could Modoji bring that change in just 4 years inspite of your non cooperations in every field to pull him down*.

PM Modi works for 18 hours a day. He sleeps on flights to save time and money.
How many hours do you work for the country Rahul?

PM Modi has no strong political background. With sheer hard work and commitment, and dedication, he became the Prime Minister of the Country.
Are you capable of relinquishing the Gandhi tag and achieving something with your capabilities and hard work?

At the age of 18 years, Modi left his house and joined RSS, to serve the Country.
What were you doing at the age of 18 Rahul Gandhi?

Every citizen of this country would dream to achieve something like PM Modi.
How many would want to follow you and become like you?

It is *not just the Gandhi tag that is required to run this country* Rahul, but a person who can show the will and commitment to take the country forward.

Ma taught that all paths were one and supported devotees in pursuing whatever path fit their inclination. In 1981, a devotee in Kankhal asked Ma, " What is better, to die at Vrindaban or at Kashi ?"

Those who are on the bhakti marga think to die at Vrindaban, because they have the saguna rupa (the form with qualities) of God there in form of Sri Krishna. Those who are on the nirguna marga and want to obtain the God who is jnana svarupa (the essence of knowledge), Atma svarupa (the essence of the Self), and nitya (eternal) take Kashi as their mukti kshetra (place for liberation) because Shiva is there. But where does He not exist? Where is the place unoccupied by Bhagaban? He is everywhere.

In Pilani, in 1962, Ma said :

A person starts liking a particular nama (name) and rupa (form). Some like the idol of Sri Rama while others like that of Sri Krishna, Durga or Kali or Shiva. Some like to follow the path of yoga, while others like to go on kriyamarga or karmamarga (the path of actions and works). Some like worshipping, while others like the Advaita philosophy of nirakara-upasana (meditation on the formless God) as they do not want to be involved in nama and rupa. Whatever line one likes, it automatically lays bare within oneself, it opens the way for shradhdha (faith) to awaken.

Although Ma insisted that the paths of bhakti, jnana, and karma, are " one in the same," she did, however, encourage people to pick a path and stick with it. On one occasion Ma was having a conversation with a man about the comparative degree of difficulty of the path prescribed by the Puranas, the path of bhakti, and the path prescribed by the Upanishads, the path of jnana. Seeming somewhat exasperated, she said, " Why do you ride in two cars ? Go by one. Either Purans or Upanishads, follow one of them. Then you will not have any confusion. Follow one and do not condemn the other. Do not condemn anyone.

In Vrindaban, in 1969, Ma says to a devotee :

When the pure Atma is mixed with ajnana (ignorance), which is the dirt, it becomes dirty and it is called jiva (the individual soul). There is a way to make the dirty water clean. We filter it. Similarly, there is a way to change the jiva into Atma. Filter it with the help of yoga. Yoga removes the dirt of ignorance and passions from the jiva and the pure Atma starts shining again, it becomes Parabrahma Paramatma.

Ma also speak the language of bhakti. For example, in Haridwar in 1972, Ma says :

Keep one thing always in your mind. God has come to me in the form of this name. I have achieved Him in this form. I will not leave His company. What is chanting ? It is just keeping company with Him. When you will be in His company, it will dye your mind His colour. He will dye you the colour you need. That is why I say you should never leave His company. Keep him with you in the form of chanting His name. When you keep on doing it, one day it will " occur " in you. You will attain the state where the name will go on in you without effort.

In Pilani in 1962, Ma says :

How is knowledge gained ? What a beautiful discussion you have started. Knowledge is nitya-prapta (existing from eternity). It is eternally in you. Had it not been there in you, you would never have asked, " How is it gained ?" For example, suppose you have a stone, which contains a lot of wealth, groceries and everything. You do not face any difficulty. But then you ask, " How can we get a grocery store ?" When do you need to know how the knowledge is gained ? This is His will only. The Lord has inspired you to ask this question. You are the Self. The thought that you are not He is nothing but ignorance, a veil. But the (veil) is removable. It is like cloud. The clouds cover the sun but once they are removed, the sun is still shining. Jai Maa!!!

One Life, Many Masters

One of the great Sufi Masters, Junnaid, was dying. His chief disciple came close to him and asked softly, ″Master, you are leaving us. One question has always been in our minds. Who was your Master? This has been a great curiosity among all your disciples because we have never heard you talk about your Master. But we could never gather the courage to ask you."

Junnaid opened his eyes and said, ″It will be very difficult for me to answer because I have learned from almost everybody. The whole existence has been my Master. I have learned from every event that has happened in my life. And I am grateful to all that has happened, because out of all that learning I have arrived.″

Junnaid said, ″Just to satisfy your curiosity I will give you three instances...

One:

I was very thirsty and I was going towards the river carrying my begging bowl, the only possession I had. When I reached the river a dog rushed, jumped into the river, started drinking.

I watched the dog for a moment and threw away my begging bowl. Because I saw it is useless. A dog could do without it. I also jumped into the river, drank as much water as I wanted. My whole body was cool because I had jumped into the river. I sat in the river for a few moments, thanked the dog, touched his feet with deep reverence because he had taught me a lesson.

I had dropped everything, all possessions, but there was a certain clinging to my begging bowl. It was a beautiful bowl, very beautifully carved, and I was always aware that somebody might steal it. Even in the night I used to put it under my head as a pillow so nobody could snatch it away. That was my last clinging. The dog helped. It was so clear: if a dog can manage without a begging bowl... I am a man, why can′t I manage? That dog was one of my Masters.

Two:

I lost my way in a forest and by the time I reached the nearest village that I could find, it was midnight. Everybody was fast asleep. I wandered all over the town to see if I could find somebody awake to give me shelter for the night, until finally I found one man. I asked him, ′It seems only two persons are awake in the town, you and I. Can you give me shelter for the night?′

The man said, ′I can see from your gown that you are a Sufi

The man said, ″I can see you are a Sufi and I feel a little embarrassed to take you to my home. I am perfectly willing, but I must tell you who I am. I am a thief. Would you like to be a guest of a thief?″

For a moment Junnaid hesitated. The thief said, ″Look, it is better I told you. You seem hesitant. The thief is willing but the mystic seems to be hesitant to enter into the house of a thief, as if the mystic is weaker than the thief. In fact, I should be afraid of you--you may change me, you may transform my whole life! Inviting you means danger, but I am not afraid. You are welcome. Come to my home. Eat, drink, go to sleep, and stay as long as you want, because I live alone and my earning is enough. I can manage for two persons. And it will be really beautiful to chit-chat with you of great things. But you seem to be hesitant.″

Junnaid became aware that it was true. He asked to be forgiven. He touched the feet of the thief and he said, ″Yes, my rootedness in my own being is yet very weak. You are really a strong man and I would like to come to your home. And I would like to stay a little longer, not only for this night. I want to be stronger myself!″

The thief said, ″Come on!″ He fed the Sufi, gave him something to drink, helped him to prepare for sleep and he said, ″Now I will go. I have to do my own thing. I will come back early in the morning.″ Early in the morning the thief came back. Junnaid asked, ″Have you been successful?″

The thief said, ″No, not today, but I will see tomorrow.″

And this happened continuously, for thirty days: every night the thief went out, and every morning he came back empty-handed. But he was never sad, never frustrated--no sign of failure on his face, always happy --and he would say, ″It doesn′t matter. I tried my best. I could not find anything today again, but tomorrow I will try. And, God willing, it can happen tomorrow if it has not happened today.″

After one month Junnaid left, and for years he tried to realize the ultimate, and it was always a failure. But each time he decided to drop the whole project he remembered the thief, his smiling face and his saying ″God willing, what has not happened today may happen tomorrow.″

Junnaid said, ″I remembered the thief as one of my greatest Masters. Without him I would not be what I am.

Three:

I entered a small village. A little boy was carrying a lit candle, obviously going to the small temple of the town to put the candle there for the night.″

And Junnaid asked, ″Can you tell me from where the light comes? You have lit the candle yourself so you must have seen. What is the source of light?″

The boy laughed and he said, ″Wait!″ And he blew out the candle in front of Junnaid. And he said, ″You have seen the light go. Can you tell me where it has gone? If you can tell me where it has gone I will tell you from where it has come, because it has gone to the same place. It has returned to the source.″

Junnaid said, ″I had met great philosophers but nobody had made such a beautiful statement: ′It has gone to its very source.′
Everything returns to its source finally. Moreover, the child made me aware of my own ignorance. I was trying to joke with the child, but the joke was on me. He showed me that asking foolish questions: 'From where has the light come?′--is not intelligent. It comes from nowhere, from nothingness--and it goes back to nowhere, to nothingness.″

Junnaid said, ″I touched the feet of the child. The child was puzzled. He said, ′Why you are touching my feet?′ And I told him, ′You are my Master--you have shown me something. You have given me a great lesson, a great insight.′

″Since that time,″ Junnaid said, ″I have been meditating on nothingness and slowly, slowly I have entered into nothingness. And now the final moment has come when the candle will go out, the light will go out. And I know where I am going--to the same source.

I remember that child with gratefulness. I can still see him standing before me now, blowing out the candle.

No situation is without a lesson, no situation at all. All situations are pregnant with meaning and intelligence. But we have to discover them. They may not always be on the surface.

When we see life itself as our master, these lessons become more accessible.
*Good Morning*
*Have a great day*
*God bless*

A FEW THOUGHTS - In these uncertain times.......

1. " All You need in life is to KNOW Yourself ; To Live with the Knowledge that it is JUST LIFE and That is the way It is. You NEED a Sense of what Your Life MEANS to You, The APPRECIATION of Yourself, Your FRIENDSHIPS and The LOVE of others. You NEED a Desire to GROW as a Person, to DISCOVER what Your Gifts in Life are to Yourself, others, and the World. You are the ONLY YOU in the World. EMBRACE who You Are........"

2. " Though We are Products of our Past, but We DON'T have to be prisoners of It."

3. " WE have Two CHOICES in Life when it comes to Truthful Observations by others that Anger US: WE can be Ashamed and COVER IT UP by letting Our Pride take us in the Extreme Opposite Direction, in order to Make the point that they are wrong. OR, WE CAN BREAK DOWN THE WALLS of pride by ACCEPTING VULNERABILITY as a STRENGTH, Not a weakness. As We WALK THROUGH our Vulnerability, we will MEET HUMILITY on the Way to COURAGE. From here, Courage allows us to LET GO of Shame and Rise Higher into the person We are Meant To Be, NOT the person that needs to be right. This is the road to CONFIDENCE and SELF WORTH........."

AND A STRONG BELIEF..........

4. " MY Scars Remind Me that I did INDEED SURVIVE my DEEPEST Wounds. That - In itself IS - An ACCOMPLISHMENT. And They bring to my mind something else too. They REMIND Me -That the damage LIFE has inflicted on me - Has, in many places, left me STRONGER and More RESILIENT. What hurt me in the past has Actually Made Me BETTER EQUIPPED - To FACE the Present......"

DO ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS.....

As an Indian schooled in the English language, I have long been fascinated by its different variants in use around the world—from the Singaporean “la” suffixed to every sentence to the Australian “G’day” prefixed to every greeting. But most compelling are the multiple differences between British and American English, the two languages fighting for dominance in the Anglophone world.

In my first week on a US university campus, I asked an American where I could post a letter to my parents. “There's a bulletin board at the Student Center,” he replied, “but are you sure you want to post something so personal?” I soon learned that I needed to “mail” letters, not “post” them (even though in the US you mail them at the “post office”).

In Britain, one concludes a restaurant meal by asking for the bill, and conceivably paying by cheque; in America, one asks for the check and pays with bills. What the Brits call chips are fries in America; what the Yanks call chips are crisps in Britain.

An English friend of mine says he nearly had a heart attack on a flight in the US when the American pilot announced that the plane would be airborne “momentarily”. In British English, “momentarily” means “for a moment”, and he says he thought the pilot was suggesting an imminent crash after takeoff. In American English, however, “momentarily” means “in a moment”, and the pilot was merely appeasing the passengers.

The plane took off, stayed aloft, my friend's heart stopped thudding, and he lived to tell the tale. But he understood the old adage that Britain and the US are countries divided by a common language.

Anecdotes abound about the misunderstandings that arise when foreigners come to the US thinking that they know the language.

In one anecdote, a young man, in the course of a passionate courtship, tells his American girlfriend, “I'll give you a ring tomorrow.”
All he meant was that he would call her. But she understood him to have offered betrothal, and the relationship didn't survive the misunderstanding.

Then there's the hotel that failed to understand an English guest who called to say he had left his “trousers in the wardrobe”. Translators had to be summoned before the hotel staff finally cottoned on: “Oh, you've left your pants in the closet. Why didn't you say so in the first place?”

Sometimes you can get the right word but the wrong concept. Our former foreign minister, once ruefully recounted the time he wanted to order a modest bite from room service in a New York hotel and requested sandwiches. “How many do you want?” minister was asked. Imagining delicate little triangles of thinly-sliced bread, he replied: “Oh, half-a-dozen should be enough.” Six sandwiches duly arrived, each about a foot long and four inches high.

The language of politics is also not exempt from the politics of language. When a member of parliament in Britain “tables” a resolution, he puts it forward for debate and passage; when an American Congressman tables a resolution, he kills it off. A “moot” point is one the Englishman wants to argue; but if it's moot, the American considers it null and void. Such differences of usage reveal something of the nature of American society. It is no wonder, after all, that while the British “stand” for election, Americans “run” for office.

A British linguist once told a New York audience that whereas a double negative could make a positive, there was no language in the world in which a double positive made a negative. A heckler put paid to his thesis in forthright American: “Yeah, right.”

Yeah, right, indeed. With the universality of English largely a result of US global dominance, it's time for other English speakers to accept the American usage is winning worldwide. Even Indians are saying “elevator” and “apartment” rather than “lift” and “flat”. “Cookies” are supplanting “biscuits”.
