"A Solitude Purloined"
This bit of silliness was born one day when I went to the drug store to pick up a prescription for IlaJean. As I was reentering my house, a random word popped into my head; “obsequious”. I recognized it as a word that has undergone significant metamorphosis in meaning in the last two-hundred years, like so many English words of the King James era. (I love my King James Bible and its archaic and poetic language but most modern people find it difficult and confusing.) “Obsequious” is not a Bible word, of course. What happened then was that I started playing with the idea of making up a silly alliterative poem built on “ob” words, just for fun. This happened in the middle of the 2020 Corona virus epidemic when we were under a “shelter-in-place” order. I thought maybe this would provide some entertainment for home-bound isolated friends. It kept me occupied all day. new item to my portfolio:
 Linguistic Obstetrics  (E)
An alliterative poem on "ob" words
