| If you are talking about an interactive, part of why you are having trouble getting others to contribute is that you only have 1 person who has fanned you (pushed your Plus button). So, unless people are on the Community Newsfeed like I currently am (and most folks never come here), they will never see your posts. It's important to interact with others and encourage them to press your Plus button until they at least see the finger with the string to set you as a Favorite of theirs. You won't know, but it's something. Ideally, they will press it twice until they see the megaphone and become your Fan. You are then notified and they appear on your list of fans. Just like real life writers, fans are important if we want people to see our work. |

| Pace increased to 4,000w, i don't know how i managed to do it. And i still have plenty of time left for the night. I'll try to get to 6,000w. |
| Progress š Although I've hit 3000-4000 words before, i have finally gotten around to habitualizing this Trollopian pace, that means i increased my word count per day from 1000 to 3000. Though its still a little stressful. The good thing is if i write at around 1500 words per day (Stephen King's pace), I wouldn't feel tired or stressed anymore. Most of the time it just feels like i haven't had written enough. So my likely minimum has increased to 2000 words on a bad day. |
I think I work better with a timed amount to write than word count, even if it ends up the same.  I'm definitely impressed with your ability to write no matter what is going on around you! If the neighbors were loud, no way could I write, at least not without earplugs. lol As for hunger, I totally use that as an excuse.  I suspect this is why you are much more successful at this than I am. lol Well done!  I'm glad you feel like this is one of the best writing forums you've run across. I didn't really research. I saw it and joined. Thankfully, it was a good choice. I'm running a raffle in September, if you are interested in joining.  The tickets are purchased by posting reviews, not be spending GPs (gift points). The prizes are GPs, though.  No pressure, but if you are going to be doing reviews anyway...  So, are you actually getting published or have been or are working on it? I just mostly write for fun, primarily because I'm too lazy and disorganized to make a job of it.  One thing you can do to promote your finished works is to write side stories about the characters, perhaps their backstory or maybe a story about characters that aren't in your novel, but who were impacted by the things that happened. You can then put those stories here to excite people about your main novel. Yep, sometimes I'm a genius.  Just so you know, when you post on the Newsfeed, unless people go to the Community Newsfeed (which most don't), they'll never see your posts if they haven't clicked your Plus button. Schnujo is Late to Lannister   Just like with regular authors, fans are important. Clicking once sets a person as a favorite of yours. Clicking twice (until you see the megaphone) makes you a fan and they are notified. The only difference is that fans are public. But in both cases, you start seeing that person's posts on the Newsfeed. So, if no one has clicked your Plus button at least once, there isn't much chance too many people will see what you are writing on the Newsfeed. To change that, make friends on here and they will start clicking your Plus button. I highly recommend everyone click View the Community Newsfeed along the top of their Personal Newsfeed (the default) so they can meet new folks and see different activities. There's a lot of great stuff out there. Check it out! No pressure to click my Plus button (preferably twice), but you are welcome to if you want. |
| @Schnujo thanks for the heads up, i actually just discovered the community newsfeed today haha. And have been reading around people's stuff, it had been very motivating so far. As for the side character promotion thing, i think that's a great idea! Maybe i will try that in the near future. As for my track record, its a little bumpy. I had only ever submitted once to a flash fiction magazine, didn't like what i made. FF isn't my forte i think. As for the novels and novella, i have so many stock drafts (some had even reached the third draft) that i have lying around and been fighting myself over getting an editor, rewriting, and submitting all of them in a batch, most of my writings are sort of a bunch of Ć©tudes too. Sometimes I'd write a novella to try to get myself around to mastering a certain aspect in my storytelling (like setting the mood, pacing, etc..) and not really a true masterpiece i could feel proud of but its true that I'm trying to get my work out there now. Maybe if the pandemic is over it'd be much easier for me to move around and do just that. As for the current novel I'm working on, its on the way haha to self publishing. The hardest part had been trying to rest and getting myself a new pair of eyes to scrutinize my work all over again, hopefully this will become smooth sailing soon. |
| Congrats on discovering the Community Newsfeed! Most folks who have been here for years don't know about it. I must say I was wondering how you found my post to comment on. lol You should check out Brandiwynš¶ and her NaNo challenges for October and November. They are pretty awesome if you want to participate in National Novel Writing Month...or just want some inspiration and help fleshing things out. Here's her October Prep thing.

| Looking through my 2018-2019 writing archives, sifting through the comedy folder made me realize that my attempts on trying to be funny was funnier than the content i intended to be funny. I think I'm now glad that i didn't go down the comedy route since i had a Terry Pratchett phase during that year. |

| Hi multi-drafters! i would like to know how you guys work with your second and third draft, like how much of the lines changes, or even the story in particular. There are times when i felt like the second draft becomes stale for some reason so sometimes i end up leaving a lot of first draft proses in there. How about you? |
