the narrator holds a woman in high esteem
A Fine Temptation

You are more elegant than the blue of the sea,
Yet not a bit easier to tame,
For to whom will you give your fine silver key?

The unbridled joy could fill any heart with glee,
And therein lies your true call to fame,
For you are more elegant than the blue of the sea.

Though all wander with cautious entry,
Curious if it is the familiar game
And uncertain of whom will earn your fine silver key.

Gracious and calm you sit sipping your tea,
Viewing all with a fair, steady aim,
For you are more elegant than the blue of the sea.

They all feature wealth aplenty,
Yet really, aren’t they all the same?
May any receive your fine silver key?

Do not give it away while you carry
The composure of a true dame,
For you are more elegant than the blue of the sea.
Thus you must keep your fine silver key.
