Based on a picture I saw.
I promised myself I wouldn't cry.

I place the single white water lily on what was left of you. The casket that prevented me from seeing you. My world slowly falling apart. I wanted to run, maybe if I had of been there on time or called to say I was going to be late, you wouldn't have been crossing that street. As they lowered you down tears stung my eyes.

So maybe I should just...

Tears slipped from my eyes. If I could only make a deal with god. Take back every promise I'd forgotten and tell you how much I truly loved you.

Add that to the list...

The sound of them burying you seeming to bury every single one of those promises with you. My hands went to my face, for I couldn't face you anymore, my heart couldn't break anymore. What I would say if you were here.

of promises that I couldn't keep.

Author Note:
Thank you to Lackless for drawing such a beautiful picture that I just had to write a story to. Link: http://lackless.deviantart.com/art/milizia-promise-260246891
I don't own the picture and my story has nothing to do with the picture.
