It is the biggest state we have.
Alaska is The Last Frontier.
That’s what they like to say.
Hey, I can’t argue with that claim.
Yeah, I’ve been up that way.

It is the biggest state we have.
It is the coldest, too.
I spent a week there touring ‘round.
That’s all that I could do.

I saw Denali on my trip.
It took my breath away.
Yeah, I’ll admit it was a sight,
a very special day.

We took a bus trip through the park.
The scenery was great.
I highly recommend that tour.
Don’t put it off too late.

There were some moose just hanging ‘round
for everyone to see.
I even spied a grizzly bear,
but far away from me.

At night I saw the Northern Lights,
those swirls and tones of green.
We don’t have stuff like that at home,
not that I’ve ever seen.

The people that we met up there,
the ones who stay all year,
are quite a very special bunch.
You’d have to be, I hear.

The winters can be dark and cold
with nights that never end.
That’s one place for the feint of heart
I wouldn’t recommend.

But if you crave a change of pace
and think of moving there,
prepare your self for artic cold
and wear long underwear.

And bring along some batteries
to keep your flashlight bright.
Oh, you’ll need tons and tons of them
to last the endless night.

You have to be a little nuts,
without a trace of fear,
to live up in the frozen north
and brave The Last Frontier.
