I'm so sorry to read this entry, but I totally understand. I was in the same place in my marriage about two years ago. Everything was my fault, I just didn't understand him, I was never there for him. Nevermind that I took care of him, the house, our pets, worked, volunteered, and went to school.

He was a mess physically, mentally and emotionally. So, I finally told him that that was it, we needed to separate. In May our divorce was final. He's realized he screwed up big time and has started to work on his health problems and is seeing a counselor.

I regret the divorce, but we are still very good friends. When his mother died, and when my father had his heart attack, we were there for each other. This time it was as friends. If we hadn't gotten the divorce when we did, I don't think we would be able to do that....because I think I eventually would have ended up hating him.

I hope things work out for you, whichever way it goes, and if you need to vent, just drop me a line.

Wait a minute.
There is nothing selfish about that.
Anyone who tells you that you're being selfish for putting yourself first-send them my way so I can hit them.
For too long women are told that their families come first-parents, husband, children, in-laws... It's our job to make sure everyone else is happy, often at the expense of our own happiness.
If you need to be alone-live alone, etc... In order to come to terms with who you are, then so be it. If your friends and family can't support you-whether they understand or not-whether they agree or not... If they can't support you then there's a problem.
Coming to terms with who we are is an ongoing process. We're always learning-and changing. When we need to step away from life for awhile to come to grips with ourselves it is important that we do so.
Good luck! Don't allow this to bring you down-use this time to bring yourself back UP!

Yay for money!

Three more weeks of student teaching? Exciting, exciting! When will you know if they can offer you a job? It can be such a bitch getting a teaching job, it's amazing! They cry about needing teachers, but then it's hard to find a job once you've got your credential!

I've got a couple of friends who had to sub for a year or two before being given a full-time position. But I have a couple other friends (brother and sister actually) who got jobs right after they finished their student teaching. Of course one of them was replacing his previous high school band teacher and the teacher had said he wouldn't retire until this guy was ready to replace him so he was guaranteed the job before he even finished high school!

Okay, I'm going to fill up this whole box but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you can stay at the school you're at now!

No Day Off For Me

Ok, I know I said I was going to get a day off, and I was really REALLY looking forward to it, but I ended up having to work 3.75 hours until the girl who was supposed to be working got out of her college course. Since the manager forgot that this girl is going to college, I will also be working a split shift on Friday. This means that, along with not getting my day off, I'm going to be working 9-5 tomorrow, 9-2/5-close Friday, 9-5 Saturday, and 11-8 Sunday. I'm SO TIRED!!

12 going on 13, Days that is.

Just wanted to drop in and let my faithful reader (HEY NOE!) that I'm still alive. I've just been uber busy. I started a new job at the local Dairy Queen and there were only two employees (me and a cook) besides the manager for a few days, then I went to school to teach for a week, now I'm back at DQ. I have worked 12 days in a row, today is number 13, and I work tomorrow as well, then get 1 day off.

I'm tired....

people Lie!

Everyone told me that my 8th graders would be the good ones, the ones I would have no problems from at all. Well, people lie. We've been in class a few minutes and they are already rebelling. Kids will be kids, but I wasn't quite prepared for the 'angels' to get me like this. Along with that, we've got a teacher's aid trying to take over so I'm not even getting to elarn my students because she's walking around helping instead of letting me do the job I was hired to do and I'm not really jumping up to tell her to stop. I guess I should just jump up and be assertive...I hate that.

Officially Employed!

I have officially been asked to finish the school year out as an English teacher at an area school. I will be teaching Junior HIgh P.E. High School P.E. and 7th, 8th, and 11th grade English! There's only 4 weeks of school left and I am definately teaching two of them, they offered the other two weeks to another new teacher hoping to provide both of us with a good experience in teaching and something to put on our resumes. She has not called them back yet, so I might be teaching all 4 weeks if she doesn't agree to come to work on those terms.

Its Official!!

I'm officially a college graduate!! My diploma arrived yesterday and is hanging on my wall now. I am so proud and excited to be through. I changed my major so many times that I had begun to think that I wouldn't graduate at all, but here I am. At 23 I am a college graduate and almost a certified teacher!!! YAY ME!!!!!

Last Night

My last night at the nursing home is done with now. I'm a little saddened to be leaving the residents, but definately not to be leaving the workers. while I fully intend to continue visiting the home and residents, I will not be missing the work involved.

Now, to find a good paying job that doesn't require me to lift 300 pound men or to wipe dirty bottoms....
