Hmm...one day I'll write a newer introduction. Maybe I should make a static item of all my different introductions. *Laugh*

New Introduction, October 31, 2005
It's time to update this introduction. Since June 2005, I've packed up and moved from Armenia to the US, found a house, waited a month for settlement, moved in, found a preschool for my son, got settled in, and maybe found my sanity. Maybe. I'm just now getting back to writing. Read on for more about me and life in the US.

Original Introduction:
I live in the former Soviet Republic of Armenia nine months out of the year. The rest of the time you can find me living out of a suitcase in the US or on one of our travels somewhere. This journal started out as a description of my life in Armenia, but I've amended it since I've realized that life there is very similar to life everywhere. I don't have a car, clothes dryer, microwave, or dishwasher but I've learned one doesn't really need those things to have a fulfilling life. Some days I'm just estatic over a slow trickle of hot water which can mean the difference between being smelly for another twenty-four hours or being clean.

By the way, DH=dear husband; DS=darling son; MIL=mother-in-law. You get the picture.

could be 10 days - 2 weeks before he's actually sleeping in his bed, but things are moving, slowly.

Big storms in Kuwait, so he's got to sit and wait.

There's so much clutter and trash strewn around our house, that I just started picking up and putting away when I wanted. No plan. Sat on the couch when I wanted. Watched TV when I wanted. Finished TWO books this week, a minor miracle. The house looks better. I feel better. Love having 4-day weekends. I could use a few more days like this. Things are starting to come together and I'm starting to get AHEAD of the mess. Loving that.

Kiddo is exhausted and enjoying his last rest and relax day. He was so jazzed up on sugar and candy last night that he didn't go to sleep until after 9:15 pm. That's the last time I heard from him, so I know it was after then.

Job interview on Thursday. It's for a teaching assistant job and will be ALL DAY LONG! Yup...time in the classrooms and the second interview sometime during the day. Then I won't know for sure until May, even. It's very competitive with 6-7 people interviewing for 2-3 assistant positions. Yikes! If I don't get the full-time job, there's a chance of maybe part-time and definitely subbing next year. I need full-time though, especially the health insurance. If I get my own, that will save us tons of $$ from hubby's ins., in effect a raise for one of us. Him, I guess. More take home for him.

*Laugh* The story of my life.

I stayed up late last night finishing my resume and cover letter. Of course, that involved updating my website. I ended up putting a bunch of pages on private 'cause I couldn't get to 'em. I was going to do that this morning, but, man o' man, I'm *Yawn*. So, I did a little cleaning, a little laundry, and watched a little Gunsmoke instead.

I'm off to take a shower, then up to the school to school to turn it all in. Woo hoo! Another thing *Check1* off my list. Next is more on the website and the overdue book reviews.

Toodles!

Some days it just flows. Other days it's like getting water from a stone. Today is a stone day. I've been working on my resume, personal website, and a cover letter for a job. All three projects are inter-related (I don't do anything the easy way.) I'm stuck on the cover letter and I really, really, really wanted to turn in my package tomorrow. What I've got so far is great! But it's not enough. I need more than Hire Me! I'd be great there! *Laugh*

I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.

Finally starting to get things done. Right about now is when I'd generally come down with a cold or migraine, you know, right when I was starting to dig out from under.

The dishwasher is running.

The kiddo is showered and in bed.

The last of the laundry is in the machine. Still stuff to be folded, but it's clean.

The fish and snail tanks have been cleaned. Yuk. I need a better filter in that snail tank.

Draft resume done.

Started the cover letter.

Passed out on my home office floor for about 20 minutes! *Laugh* Man, was I tuckered. Now I need to vaccuum since I've been coughing from all the dust!

Started drafting text for updates to my website. Doing a major overhaul.

FINALLY FIGURED OUT MY NICHE! I'll keep you posted. I'm going to have a launch party. Hmm...I'm thinking that as I type. Sounds like a good idea. What kind of internet launch party can I have? Any ideas?

I'm off to bed. My little kookoo birds will be in fine fettle tomorrow. We changed the room around, moved furniture and all, and that always gets 'em EXCITED!

Yahooey! Yippee!

Finally not sick and no migraines and had enough time/energy/patience to finish.

Next up is my resume and a cover letter for Tuesday.

And six way overdue book reviews. *Blush*

And two overdue press releases, if Vivian still wants 'em.

And an editing project for someone that's been languishing for quite a while, if she still wants help.

THEN I've a new website/blog to develop. Still tinkering and fine tuning that idea.

I'm ditching editing for anyone but Novelspot once I finish what's on my plate, unless they are offering me beaucoup buckaroos.

I'm ditching writing for anyone but myself (and Novelspot by extension since I like doing book reviews but I'm going to review personal copies of books for a while so it's my deadline I'm missing) unless they're offering me beaucoup buckaroos.

I'm applying for a full-time teaching assistant job for the next school year. My poor hubby can't take this stress of living so close to the wire. I can't either. I'm thinking of applying to Trader Joe's for some hours. With gas prices going up, and now water prices, it's scary. Our cushion is getting thin. We're not into our savings, but we don't want to be, either.

Off to find some brownies. Like I really WANT to get some sleep tonight. *Laugh*

Just wasting time instead of writing my evaluations for student conferences tomorrow. Come on, what can I say? They're 3! *Laugh* I'm just bored and unfocused. Getting over a migraine. Having less of 'em, though! Yippee!

Kiddo's teacher just called to let me know a funny story from Friday. He's in kindergarten, by the way. And almost taught the whole class the F word. Yup! *Laugh* The highschooler across the street accidently hurt himself and blasted the word at full volume when kiddo was there playing.

off to work
and to make dinner
and switch the laundry

I was in tournarounds. Prostination and a 3 day migraine did me in. I didn't submit an entry.

I meant procrastination, but obviously didn't say that.

What's it mean?

I waited too long to start and now I'm dealing with post-2-day migraine washout. I know that I can submit anything, 'cause no one is eliminated this round, but my heart isn't in it.

I did the bare minimum of fish care today. Spent lots of time on the couch chilling out. Managed a shower!

Until later,

It's my favorite place to shop.

Kiddo and I stopped in on our way home from school today and picked up a 5.5 gallon aquarium and a kids desk and chair. The kids desk is like a school desk and is solid! Just needs a new paint job. All this for less than $20.

Mr. Snail will be happy. I will be too. His unfiltered tank stinks, and I just had to open the door to air the place out after doing a water change. I have a filter for the newbtank. Just need to come up with a lid so he doesn't go on walkabout on the kitchen table.

No lie.

I made the mistake of stopping at the gas station and picking up a can of Pringles since I was hungry and early for getting kiddo from school.

My second mistake was opening the can. Kiddo helped, a little, but now said can is empty.

Ugg...

*Sick*

It was fun while it lasted! *Laugh*

At 7 pm, kiddo was almost in bed. Hubby was actually in bed (still sick). The dishes were washing. The house was a mess but was going to stay that way.

And I'm just too tired to enjoy my quiet time. I think I might go to bed and watch some TV for a bit.

Go figure. I got books to review and edit. A website to update. A resume to update. yadda yadda yadda And don't ask me about taxes.

First day back at school and last day of teaching for the week! Love it! We only had 8 of our 12 kids, thank god. They were a crazy mess and it was so cold outside that no one wanted to stay out for very long. Hubby took kiddo to school so I could go over to my school and set up my classroom early, otherwise I would have had to have gone yesterday. No way that was happening.

I'm happy and sad. *Laugh*

Lunches are made. Clothes for tomorrow are laid out. Fish and snail are fed and in clean homes. Kiddo better be asleep. Hubby and I are watching NCIS. The house is a WRECK but we had fun getting it that way.

I teach tomorrow. Just one day this week! Yippee!!!!

Oops...NCIS is back.

Toodles.
