Many thanks to Jenn - Hopeful for the Future  for the wonderful ribbon!  There are a lot of contests where you can earn merit badges for your writing skills. But where can you go to earn merit badges for your reviewing skills? Well, look no further friends... introducing SoCalScribe's Review Challenge, where you can compete for the chance to have your critiquing skills recognized! HOW IT WORKS Each month, an item will be posted into the forum for review. Your challenge is to provide the best review possible. We're talking detailed, quality feedback that the author can use to improve the work. The reviewer that provided the best feedback, as decided by our esteemed judges, will be awarded a prize for their hard work. Sound easy? Here are the details: THE FINE PRINT 1. Reviewers must rate and provide a Quality Review for the author's item, and post it as a Public Review. Any review that does not meet the WDC's Quality Review standards will be disqualified. 2. Reviewers must additionally post a notice in this forum to let me know that a review has been submitted. This is important, otherwise I won't know to look for your review on the Public Review page! 3. Items for review will be posted on the first (1st) of the month. 4. The deadline for entries is the the last day of the month, at 11:59PM WDC time. 5. There are two judges for every round... the item's author, and the contest judge listed below. Entries are rated on a scale of 1.0 to 10.0, and then the two scores are averaged. The reviewer with the highest averaged score will be the winner. In the event of a tie, the item's author shall determine the winner. 6. Donations are greatly appreciated (and encouraged!) and will go toward maintaining and/or increasing the prizes for this contest. Donors will be given no preferential treatment, and are therefore permitted to enter a round in which they have also provided a donation. THE PRIZES GRAND PRIZE: Merit Badge (judge's choice) from me & 10,000+ GPs from the item's author (determined by the size of the item and the quality of the review). HONORABLE MENTIONS: Will be awarded at the judges' discretion.
