losing someone

slipping away
no matter how hard I grasp
time's ticking
never knowing it wouldn't last
forever goodbye
that is my fear
every farewell
brings more tears
never knowing
always hoping
always hurting
when is my last goodbye?
I wish I knew
but then it would be over
it will be too few.
I could have countless
goodbyes with you
but your soul is hurting too
